GTZ blew the turn signal/reverse light fuse again...wtf???

Post by BerettaGTchick »

My GTZ blew the turn signal/reverse light fuse two weeks ago and I replaced it with a new one and everything was fine. Last night on my way home, i lost my turn signals again and when I parked, realized the reverse lights didn't work so I knew it was the fuse again. Changed it earlier today and now they work again. Is there something that would cause me to blow a fuse again or was it just a bad fuse? I hate electrical problems so I am asking opinions before I dig into this more if she blows another :-\

I'd start with checking all the bulbs to make sure they are all ok and the glass isn't loose from the base or something that could cause a short, Also check the wires that are external of the car around the tail lights. Make sure something isn't frayed or pinched somewhere. After that then the next thing to try is to go after the multi-function switch in the column. When the fuse does blow do your brake lights still work?

The brake lights did work still both times the fuse was blown out.

That's odd I'd definitely check the column switch then and swap it out if you have the means to.

What else is on that fuse?

well in that case check the backup bulbs and sockets and also wires going to those... then yup onto the multifunction switch in the column... that's all that's left.

They are $30-$50 from RA for a new one.
