WANTED: Front Lip Brace
Re: WANTED: Front Lip Brace
?
What the inner structure? Long enough to make the template, but I figure there should be enough busted broken ones laying around somewhere I can steal from, rather than one that is actually in good shape, if that makes sense.
Maybe a week? However fast I can turn it around. I personally won't be making them, but once I have one made, I can ship it back with the brace I suppose. Hell I will even install it.
But if I'm doing all that, may have to kick me a few bucks for shipping. The braces by themselves will be cheap to mail out.

If no one sends you one in a week or so, I'll go to the garage and grab you one of mine.

Re: WANTED: Front Lip Brace
Well, no one apparently wants one for free very badly. All I need is the black inner structure that goes in the front Z04 bumper. If I could get to my Z, I would pull that one! But I can't and I threw out the busted one I DID have back after the repairs were done.
So, as a reminder. If anyone can ship me that support (note, it does not have to be a good one) busted, cracked, whatever, so I can make the template. Then I will have several made up! Just ask for the address! First one that gets here, gets a free one.

Re: WANTED: Front Lip Brace
I would send you the one out of the spare '95 black nose I have here, but the shipping would eat me alive on it, especially since I would want it back. I don't have a problem fabricating my own either, so it seems like a waste of someone else' good opportunity, but knowing what kind of work you do, I can't imagine someone won't jump on this soon. Maybe it is the colder temperatures right now keeping everyone from wanting to work on their car...DTMAce wrote:Well, no one apparently wants one for free very badly. Re: WANTED: Front Lip Brace
If you don't get one shipped to you this weekend I'll see what I can do... there is one just sitting in 96Z parts car in my driveway, but then again it may be under 2ft of snow after this weekend.
Re: WANTED: Front Lip Brace
Wish me luck, I'm going to try and get mine tomorrow.. How much exactly do you want of it?

Re: WANTED: Front Lip Brace
I'm in for one. This is one of those things I've been putting off for years...haha
This will still work without a plastic brace, yes? Mine is long gone.

I just need the center section containing the center rib.
Unfortunately, no. This attaches to the inner plastic structure to allow you to put tension and put the front lip where you want it. I suppose one could be directly attached to the bumper itself, but I may have to make that one a bit longer.... Haven't thought about it. Will see what happens. Point of this was, once installed with the OEM parts, you cannot see it, and it will not alter the look of the car at all. In your case, you will see this one lonely rod rather than the typical 3 plastic ribs.woody90gtz wrote:I'm in for one. This is one of those things I've been putting off for years...haha

Re: WANTED: Front Lip Brace
OK update!
Z26_T came through and has shipped me the item I needed to make these. Once that is here, I will get one made up as a template, and figure out a cost.
Speak up if you want one of these made. Price will include shipping USPS. These won't be very big or heavy. The more I do at once the cheaper I can have these done up. For most installs, you simply will drill a hole in the black plastic support, pop rivet them on and you're done. Then you can bend them to adjust your lip as you need. Some may need more tension, others less. These are stiff enough to hold where they are set, but you will be able to bend them a bit to tip more or less. They will come slightly sprung to bring the lip up.
No, these will not be a replacement for watching where your bumper is when you park in a lot with stops. LOL You can still damage your bumper with or without this.
