passenger c/v axle replacement
Trying to replace the passenger side c/v axle. 1990 gtz. My drivers side literally fell out when I replaced that one, but the passenger side just doesnt seem to budge from the intermit. shaft?? Does it need a good yank, or do I need to remove the intermit. shatft with it. I really hope thats not the case because I just used the last of my synchro mesh lube doing the driver side, and im home alone with one car for the next 2 weeks. Please help peeps. Thanks
Re: passenger c/v axle replacement
They sort of have a snap ring that pops in when you pop them into the transmission what I do is push it in really hard and then pull it out really quick with one hand while prying out with a pry bar with the other hand and it should pop right out

Re: passenger c/v axle replacement
i had to remove my jack shaft to pop the old cv out. very annoying but was easier than trying to get it out otherwise

Re: passenger c/v axle replacement
So, do i have to remove the motor mount completely to get the jack shaft bracket out? Also, I failed to mention that I only have the inner c/v remaining. Thats what I get for letting "know it alls" work on my car. I shouldve just bought a slide hammer and pulled it from the old axle nut. Anyways, can I just drop the through bolt on the mount or does it need to be completely seperated from the motor. Thanks everyone.
