Re: LF w41 Motor
That sucks. I didn't know that the 95's had balance shafts(or that they were still 2.3's, thank you for the info)! Those damn things really slow down the revs. They are for sure not needed on a oval track car. They are just to make it smoother at idle.

Re: LF w41 Motor
Quads do vibrate at idle and that is what the balance shafts were suppose to cure to keep people happy.
And they do tend to be a limiter to the RPM range of the engine.
I'm the 3rd owner of my Quad, (68,000 original miles, still has the OEM clutch). It has never been beaten, but i will admit from 5000 RPM up it's "interesting"!
Not that I get there very often.
Cheers

They make me sad. My Eco revs like my tired 3100 and that is not a joke.Asylum wrote:Quads do vibrate at idle and that is what the balance shafts were suppose to cure to keep people happy.

not a snowballs chance in hell, but i may be getting another one soon.kevilay wrote:any chance you want to part with it?speedy wrote:i have a w41 motor that ran when i purchased it, 66,000 miles on it. along with the 3.94fdr trans. i paid $400. now grant it, the motor had a bad headgasket or head(typical 086). but for $400 for a complete engine and transmission, i fail to see where i went wrong? lol. now its tore down in my garage, cams are wrapped in plastic and oil. pistons are laying on the work bench, and the block is on the stand. haha

ahh it was worth a shot. Ill keep an eye out for a HO version rather then the 41. Whats does a used HO running engine normally go for?speedy wrote:not a snowballs chance in hell, but i may be getting another one soon.kevilay wrote:any chance you want to part with it?speedy wrote:i have a w41 motor that ran when i purchased it, 66,000 miles on it. along with the 3.94fdr trans. i paid $400. now grant it, the motor had a bad headgasket or head(typical 086). but for $400 for a complete engine and transmission, i fail to see where i went wrong? lol. now its tore down in my garage, cams are wrapped in plastic and oil. pistons are laying on the work bench, and the block is on the stand. haha
