It works alright; I have it in my car.

Thanks guys the car is running it was that wire I had to wire for the maf. I guess you can add a 97 Lumina ecu to the list that will work too. Thanks a lot guys.

I have a Venture PCM in my '90 'Retta too. I ran it a little with a 3100 '97 Monte Carlo (two-door Lumina, so same-is-same), but it didn't like the 3400 injectors (probably could care less about the extra 10% of displacement). It stuttered a little, and I did have to re-pin to use it, BTW.
777, glad to hear it is working for you. Yeah, checking power and ground are the two first steps, glad you've got voltage to it now.

Yes those are the pins for the beretta, I believe they must be connected inside somehow otherwise the venture ecm wouldn't work. All 97 ecms are the same it's just the configuration on them that's different, with dhp I can flash at least the venture or the monte one, I don't know if I have the lumina fils. I would be interested to open one up and see if those two pins are common, but 13sorbust never gave back my spare ecu he only paid me for it so I need to buy a new one. Not going to take apart what's running.Rettax3 wrote:Pins 19 and 65? For the '97 Lumina, I am showing ignition power to be Pins 19 and 63... 19 and 65 show correct for the '96 Beretta, and it is easily possible that these pins are internally connected so either position could work, it is also possible that the PCM from the Lumina was running with only the power in Pin 19, which might work fine indefinitely, or it could cause an overload in the circuitry, PCM failure, and the end of the world!!! Oh, sorry, no, I got carried away... But definitely check the pin-outs for the Lumina PCM, to make certain it is getting the power-supply it needs to operate correctly.3X00-Modified wrote:If that is the wire I remember it being, not only does it supply power to the MAF but it supplies power to Pin 19 and 65 on the ECM which is Ignition power IN, so without that the ECM isn't even on. Hence why you can't connect with the scanner either.

Hmm, my spare '97 Monte PCM is sitting on the passenger's seat of the '90 'Retta... Even if I don't open the case on it, I will do an Ohm check on the pins -not 100% proof that they are directly connected internally but at 99.99%, I would take that pretty conclusively that they are the same. If pin 63 (or 65) is disconnected, will the PCM still operate with the power on pin 19? That is what I was trying to get at; not sure if that is good for the internals of the computer as the circuitry and switching 'relays' might take more power than that one circuit (through pin 19) is meant to deliver alone...3X00-Modified wrote:Yes those are the pins for the beretta, I believe they must be connected inside somehow otherwise the venture ecm wouldn't work. I never re-pinned for the 97 PCM, and I've been running one of these since maybe 07 in my red car then the same one in my Pink car in 08+ Have never had a problem with it yet.

Re: swapped harness from 1.5 to obd2 car wont start help !!
97 Venture Diagram I just got shows 19 as the only Ignition feed, 65 is unused and there is no other ignition in line on the PCM so I can only assume that using only 19 is more than sufficient for what it is doing, which is only enabling the ECM. It's not the main power source for anything.
Waiting to get the monte diagram and a new beretta one.
Condition if not hooked up is No Start... LOL

Well thats funny... New wiring diagram I got for a 96 Beretta shows pin 65 as unused... Odd...
19 is Ignition feed and 20 is Battery feed...
On the my old 96 diagram it shows 19 and 65, and also on the new schematic, not the pinout list, it shows 2, 19, 18 and 65 with multiple C1 and C2 listings... Can't make much sense of it really.
