I have a  95 Beretta 3100 I just replaced alternator about 5-6 months ago along with batt.  but just the other week my lights seem to go dim when idling. I need a new tensioner so my belt isn't 100% tight on there. Do you think that would be causing lights to go dim or should I check something else?? Please help.....

I would say a weak belt/tensioner will cause such things to do so.

you may want to replace it before it goes out

on my first beretta... the tensioner broke and was a bish to remove due to the position of it (95 base 3100)  too add to the misery the nut stripped out on it... getting a pair of grips in there is not fun at all

i take since your name is SLPberetta, and you have a dB drag avatar, are you sure your electrical system is up to par for handling your stereo system? odd are your pulling too much power and the alternator cant  keep up and burns itself out....ever think of an upgrade from the stock alternator?

its stock amps (105) nothing is hooked up in it right now, and its got an optima yellow top which is only a few months old, alt is like 9 months. It is a Duralast Gold piece of crap from Autozone because I used to work there and got 40 dollars off. But im thinking if belt isn't on tight it would cause a low output from alt therefor causing lights to go dim. This alt has never had any drain from an amp the previous one did, so that can't be the reason.
