What fuel pump did you use? I'm about to get a new walbro kit for my car and want a bolt in pump. My fuel pump is old, loud and weak and can't feed the 3500 enough fuel.

I've read the FPG169 kit from here is a bolt in for our cars...

http://www.autoperformanceengineering.c ... papps.html

You car will haul ass believe me!! I've been driving my car 3 days a week to work since i finished it, and it doesn't get old!! (even if it bogs past ~5k rpm) I can't wait to floor this sucka!

Very good job indeed! Now cam that bish! :D
Thanks man!

How is that mount working out?

I bought a Walbro fuel pump off of Slinky on here.

I could imagine that it will haul ass when its done.. hell the red Z with this 3500 Automatic before we pulled the motor hauled absolute ass... and that had restrictive van 3400 upper intake, 3100 tb, 3100 injectors, stock fuel pump, and stock 3100 exhaust.

Now it has trailblazer injectors, 3500 upper like it should have had, 3.5 old tb, ported 3400 manifolds and 2.5 inch downpipe and exhaust. and a WAI.

I cant wait to drive the car again, let alone with V6 power and a nice shifting trans.. then the extra gear to hopefully make gas mileage even better.

I havent yet figured out how to quote multiple posts into one lol

Cant wait to get these on!

Got the same hood struts on my car, they are sweet.

I'd like to see how that 6spd works out. I thought long & hard about doing one in my car but decided not to because of so many complaints about them. Bring that thing to Bfest so I can drive it! haha

Yum! Looks nice. Don't forget to beef-up that upper radiator support though...

X2!

I need to pull the Red Line shocks off my red car and get them on the Pink car... It's gonna be interesting getting them to fit with the fiberglass hood... Not sure if that causes any interference.

We got the mount bolted mostly onto the stronger part that the hood latches on to.. Its pretty damn sturdy as it sits. I forgot to get a pic of that without the cover on it..

Andy's Aqua 3400 Z I had a couple years ago had one of the original sets of redline tuning hood shocks on it, and they still worked perfectly through 2011.

Since I sold that car (wish I wouldnt have) I forgot how much better the hood shocks are. Definitely worth the time to get them to work on your 96 Jon.

I'm not trying to be an ass, I'm just being honest but whoever thinks the point where the hood latches is stronger in the front to back flexing motion does not know what they are talking about... There is not enough strength in the metal thickness alone of the radiator support, and the flimsy stamped steel bracket for the hood latch is not going to improve that strength for that motion at all.

Shawn you can leave this as is, but honestly I think you will have some more flex than you want, or you will bend something shortly after running the car.

Even without that core support mount on.. just the lower dogbone, T mount, and the custom mount in the subframe using a F body poly trans mount the motor barely barely moves.

I will see how it works out but either way I might have to take an easy on it to get it home then look into a metal bar type support under the core support.

I was hoping that the Cobalt axles that a few said might work would.. but not at all

I decided to get custom axles and get it over with.

Since Woody90gtz had trouble with The Driveshaft Shop.. Alex mentioned to me that a guy on V6Z24 did a 6 speed swap and had custom axles made.. I checked out that thread and found that RCV Performance made his axles. I called them last week and they gave me a rough quote but had to get exact measurements of what we needed while we were working on the car this last weekend.

I emailed them the dimensions for the axles I need.. The time I was on the phone he acted like he wanted my business and answered the questions I had. I think this will go great.
