hahaha, yep, right there with you! It makes no sense, but I see it as an adventure! Beretta and man vs the elements. Remember earlier this year when I installed my Wilwoods in the middle of a snowstorm:LOL 2nd that. Why am I trying to seal the cowl in temps that are not good for it? ahhh, good times. Anyways I'm confuzzled by the craigslist ad. They most certainly seem like mint wheels for a rockin' price, but I already have a complete set of Z26 wheels. I just have one installed right now and the other 3 are going on tomorrow. The reason why is that the tires are no good on them so I need to swap them out with the ones on my Cavi rims first.

Well The Z26 front bumper is off. The bumper had a tear that kept getting bigger and bigger as the week went on while driving it. Soooo I cut my losses and removed it before it split itself in two! Whatever, no surprise to anyone here as I'm always flipitty flopping on what I'm doing with the 'retta lol. The Z26 rims are all installed, and they are in pretty good knick except that one rear passenger side one that needs a good refinish and a center cap. Meh, can't beat it for $90 bucks (and the center cap is easy to come by).
Also, I drove my car one winter last year. That is the only winter this car has ever seen in its entire life. I already knew it had some paint bubbling on the passenger rocker but thought nothing of it since it was only ONE winter. Today I actually took a stick and started poking at it to get a real assesment of it...annnnd the metal started crumbling. What kind of road salt do they use in Illinois! It's like acid. Everything else, driver rocker and all is still quite pristine.
I plan to repaint the car middle next year, so I will do my best to mitigate the danger zone until then where some metal work can be done to replace that hole while it's still small.

Even worse news besides my Beretta rusting away into oblivion is that I hear that the Koni inserts I want are now discontinued by everyone and anyone. All that's left supply-wise is whatever's left at a warehouse.

I'm just super glad that we don't use salt very much up here. The highway uses a little, but in town they just use sand.

I posted a long time ago that the rears that fit the 95+ were discontinued and I got the last set, but I'm working on possibly getting a GB setup for the front inserts for the J-body with Koni... I will see what their requirements are then check with them on getting the original L-body version re-made as well as check on the V6Z24 forum to see if there is enough late model J-body support for those, OR early body support for the ones that directly fit a L-body. Only issue with going with the earlier L-body setup is you will have to use pre 92 upper mounts to accommodate the thread length difference on the rod, Koni never made a strut that fit the L-body housing AND the 92+ upper mount... the only option for that is the inserts I have with the bushings.

I've always got one vehicle that has unlimited aftermarket support and the other that the world gave up on 10 years ago.
The 6.0L is my 2500HD is limitless and has off-the-shelf parts to get you to 1500HP+ with very little research (big pocket books though). The 12 year old truck is now shown to be just a gusset weld, some hardware an off-the-shelf (there's that phrase again) 2.0" shock+coil spring away from a full performance coilover setup, besting even the modern trucks in ride and performance.
Then I have this Corsica...with a 2.2L and 3-speed automatic...where everything is found/refurbished from junkyards or custom crafted to work...
The 6.0L is my 2500HD is limitless and has off-the-shelf parts to get you to 1500HP+ with very little research (big pocket books though). The 12 year old truck is now shown to be just a gusset weld, some hardware an off-the-shelf (there's that phrase again) 2.0" shock+coil spring away from a full performance coilover setup, besting even the modern trucks in ride and performance.

That's how it is, but I guess that's what makes the L-body an interesting car to "upgrade" seeing how you have to DIY or experiment with things since there's no aftermarket. Anyways, it was like 14 degrees outside yesterday...even lower with the windchill factor and guess what my car decides to do? Dump its clutch fluid out. I instantly noticed when I pressed my clutch down and had no feel to it and it would stay down there versus normally returning to its position. It was night time and I just got off of work so driving it home was a pain in the ass to say the least. I verified this morning that my clutch fluid reservoir was bone dry. So it's either got to be the slave or the master cylinder that went awry...I'm more leaning towards the slave though. Th hijinks I get myself into especially since it's my DD.

Got my inserts today...score! I figure since I got to remove the tranny to get my complete slave cylinder out and replaced, I might as well take advantage of it. New clutch and a lightweight Fidanza flywheel is in order for operation "Save Abigail." Anybody have some good clutch disc/pressure plate brand suggestions that I should look into?

I now have newsworthy updates to report! My car realistically wont' be ready to move for at least another month....because I was saving up money to throw its way. My plan of attack is to get an Exedy clutch kit ($220), clutch master cylinder ($55) and a new low ratio 2.5 turn power steering rack ($90)+new halfshafts ($140) to get it fully operational again since all those parts are spilling fluid everywhere!
Now I'm debating to upgrade a few things, it's a decision point that I have to responsibly plan out. While the transmission is pulled out to address all the important issues, I'm debating whether to put in a Fidanza lightweight aluminum flywheel ($350) or bite the bullet to be the first person to install a Quaife QDF2I LSD in a 2.2L Beretta ($1200). It's experimental, and an expensive one at that if It doesn't work out. All my research points to it working as its compatible with isuzu derived transmissions (i.e. impulse XS, stylus XS, elan M100).





The spline count matches up with the Beretta half-shafts;
I won't be ready to order the parts until at least next Friday, so it'll give me time to think this through. It drives me crazy because I want that LSD to dramatically improve my cornering speed, but that money I will be putting up gives me cold feet!

It's available on Rock Auto. They tag on another 25 dollar core charge for it, so initially you'd be paying like 120 out the door.Where did you find the rack?

Limited slip, especially being a gear type is one of the best upgrades I ever did.
