Outside opinion????

Post by 93berettagtz3.1 »

Ok so i have a 1993 blue gtz with the 3.1L v6 (94,300 miles). This is my first car and i'm absolutely in love with it. I've seen what people have done with their berettas and I would like to do as much as possible to this car. My dad however says it's a piece of crap and isn't worth a penny to put into it. I'd just like some input as to whether or not anyone thinks it's worth it and where i would find parts to do things like an exhaust, or even a CAI.

Weatherstrip and rust are key factors. You do have somewhat low miles so that is a good thing. I'd say little mods is the best way to go. Just remember that Beretta brakes are not very good(about half as good as a new car or less), going faster is not the best goal.
Styluss is the only one that makes WAI's or CAI's for our cars. Wicked Iroc Z is the only exhaust maker.

Pretty much for a Stock L body, anything worth installing you will find it needing to be custom made.

For a swapped engine/trans L body, you are more open to the premade aftermarket mods.

In my humble opinion it sounds like your father is looking at your itch to modify as some sort of investment in the vehicle which in that case I would agree with him. But I despise those who look at cars as investments and are always juggling leases or payments and trying to unload cars before they lose their trade in value.

I'm sorry but I buy a car because I like the way it looks or performs and I plan to work on it to make it better or simply maintain that status that originally caught my eye. I don't have car payments and all 4 of my vehicles will only leave my driveway if something catastrophic happens to them or I find something that peaks my interest more... BUT the Beretta's will never go. :)

In all honesty, no these cars don't carry a "known value" but as 1988GTU stated Value is in the eyes of the beholder... Go to a few car shows and see what some people collect, that statement will begin to make more sense.

Also many parts are custom fit for the Beretta... Not much is made specifically for the car, there are some bits for the engine but those also take some time to get working right.

Good luck and happy modding :)
