Z26 Bumper Cover

Post by BerettaBob »

I have a 96 Z26 with a damaged Front Bumper Cover, torn in several places. I haven’t been able to find a replacement, except GM who wants $690, so my questions are… Does anyone know of an aftermarket supplier or used supplier that ships? MUST be a Z26 94-96.  And if not is there a product out there strong enough to repair the rips?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It doesn't have to be just those years. GTZ front bumpers are identical. Best bet is to repair it or look for one in a junkyard that's in good condition.

I have a couple decent ones but Im about 16hrs north of you in Canada.  No aftermarket supplier produces the GTZ/Z26 bumper cover so its either a used unit in good shape or brand new from GM.

A bodyshop guy gave me some stuff to fix some GTZ ground effects (same material) a while back.  It's called SEM Bumper Repair (#68422).  I haven't tried it, but he said it's real strong.

GMPartsDirect sells new front bumper covers (GTZ/Z26 PN#16515071) for $326.91 not including shipping.

Thanks, I did find a cheaper place than my local GM dealer... Two really...GMPartsDirect... Thanks Jeff... and NewGMParts.com... Both are around the $500 mark with shipping, but they are OEM.  May give the SEM a try first... Some one remind me not to let drunk ladies in mini vans run over the front of my Z again... ÂÂÂ

Raven... I'll take all the help I can get... Sure wish I had a pile of Z26 bumper covers, looks like they would go fast.  I also need a solid grille... Red would be cool, really any color... Thanks!
