Well if you work for a Chevy dealership and are using 20w50 in a 3100, I'm glad you aren't working on my cars, because you obviously don't know much about how they work, and even less about oil viscosities.
But it's your car.
Nice and shiney on the outside, and it IS, lots of gauge pressure, and starving for lubricity for the first 3 minutes on start up.
I would suggest you do some homework on the subject, use the correct grade of oil for the application (5w30) and enjoy your pretty car for a long time.

While I too use thicker oil in the summer I never go higher than 10w-40. I usually run 5W-30 in the winters. But instead of arguing about oil viscosities can't we just enjoy his car?
