I just got done swaping a 2.2 1990 cav. motor into my 89 beretta after my 2.0 blew up, finally got the motor to run but it idles at 4500 rpm, do I need to re-program the computer, I put the computer from the 90 cav on my car and tried my own and they both do it, any ideas out there, thanks.

you either have a vacuum leak or maybe a bind somewhere with the throttle cable routing. I am not familiar with 2.0's so I dont have any more insight on that. make sure all vacuum lines are in place and make sure none are cracked or brittle.

is there any difference in the 2.0 and 2.2 throttle bodies? if there is the amount of air bypass around the throttle plate might be different. try it with the 2.2 one.
