my DRL aren't working, neither are my high beams.. does anybody know what might be causing this? when i pull the level back for my high beams it won't even shut off my low beams... im thinking its the hi beam relay??? anybody know where its located?

sounds weird and SIMPLE [because problems like this usually are!] We know it won't be a fuse because the brights run on the same circuit as the low beams [pretty sure, even on drl cars, is this true as in the non drl cars?]
This tells me its an open somewhere in the high beam circuit.
Right mind in thinking though, that DRL module: do you like that that thing? just curious, because most people remove it. I don't know if the high beam depends on the drl module to be honest with you. It sounds like it could be, and could be a problem. Check out that high beam switch... You may want to do this by getting to that drl module and probing wires in the relay socket while actuating the high beam switch.
a multi meter and a wire diagram is almost a given.

oh, one more thing. Mechanical relays can go, especially if more is demanded of them [power wise] they can get burned on the contacts and quite possibly burn on the arm that collapses when the relay is actuated. Once that drl relay and/or high beam relay [if there is one... can't think of one] open that relay up by removing the black cover to look for burn marks. Or you can check the pins... visual is easier. I wonder if that arm is burned clean off so the contacts can't actuate.

i'm almost 100% positive its the module.. i heard it was located behind the stereo but all i can find back their is a black box... i'll swap it out with one from my other beretta and see if it works... im very electrical as it is so im sure i'll figure it out i was just wondering if this has happened to anyone before... thanks tho

well i haven't been able to swap out my drl module yet but i did check my relays, i have 4 relays by my passenger side strut, i figure out that they are for: fuel pump, compressor, blower motor, and (high beams)??? I haven't jumped it off yet to see if it makes a difference but i will probably tom.

I believe the high beam relay is under the dash behind the fuse box. The DRL module is behind the stereo but the relay is seperate as I recall. Been awhile since I worked on that system on a mid-90's GM.

i just found out why the highbeams didn't work, its the switch on the column, looks to be bad, i disconnected the harness to it and the regular lights didn't work, i used a wire and jumped it off and the regular lights came back on, then when i jumpered the other side THE HIGHBEAMS CAME ON!!!
so problem solved, turned out to be the switch... thanks all.
btw, i know i made this post 2 years ago but i haven't really been worried about it until now, my brake tag is due and i need to renew it. thanks all.

All 1996s and some very late 1995s.
