The car is in Santa Monica CA.  at our daughters home, which is just a little ways from where I happen to be right now.

Looks like mid September sometime before I can go get it.

It's very safe and not going anywhere.

It will NOT be at NE, but I plan to be, at least at this point.

Alot of things on the go at the present.

That is also the Bracket Finals weekend at Pittsburgh, and I'm one point out of First with five races left.

If I win that series, I will get ALOT of pressure to join the Toronto Motorsports Park Team in Pittsburgh.

OR I could go to California, OR I could come and visit you sorry lot in Albany LOL

Have to see what happens.

Glad to hear you found a good clean one. I'm dealing with insurance on the value of my 1990 low mileage one owner GTZ quad. If you don't mind, please PM me what you paid, I'd like to see if I'm in the ballpark. I only found two ads on Auto Trader for similar cars and they won't accept them yet. I even told them to keep the cash, just buy me either of those cars.
Thanks,
Bruce

Well I'm a retired insurance adjuster so I know exactly what you are dealing with.

Do you have access to the car?

Can a licensed appraiser do a forensic appraisal?

I have faced this dozens of times over my career, and it can be frustrating, but don't get ugly/mad.

Be persistent, try and document everything you possibly can, and go from there.

FYI, I paid WAY too much for this car ($4600.00) but it was just me finding MY car.

Honestly, it is maybe a $3,000 car but it's Cali Mint and that is just me.

The car wasn't For Sale, so Bryan (my son-in-law) and Regan had to BUY it.

And as we were on the phone, they were NOT leaving without the title!

But that is the problem when the car is 3000 miles away.

If I can help any further let me know.

Eric,
Thanks for the info. There are very few GTZ's selling with less than 100,000 miles, and your price is about what I'm trying to get, it seems reasonable. I'm not sure I'll get a licensed appraiser, I'm just using auto trader and getting the ads that seem comparable to my car. I may drop you a PM with some additional questions, right now my attorney is handling most of it. Thanks for the info.

Quick hijack: Few unexpected (sorta) events happened.
A Car nearly plowing into a crowd from a sticky throttle (I think it was a 66 nova) ending up on a flower bed in front of a store, towed cars for doing burnouts, A LOT of F bod's that sounded like they all shopped at the same store.
Few too many 300C's and chargers.
60's Vette getting stolen and many annoying crotch rockets.

hey asylum if you're gonna swing through green bay, wi you can have my old blower setup for free.  I'm getting my new 300zx shipped in this weekend and i'll be off my suspension mid october.  If that beast is a 3.1 auto you shouldn't even have to change the chip.  I would fricken love to see it go to someone with knowledge like you or any of the other 5-box plus members here.  You guys helped me build the thing.

I'm not sure exactly when I'm going to be able to fly down to California.

Likely be mid-October sometime.

Depending on the weather I may try to spend a couple of weeks visiting with some friends on the way back.

Almost certainly have to darken the Cack's door in Chicago at some point.

Green Bay? Maybe. I have never been there.

you would have to go north through milwaukee/chicago you just get off on exit 172 from interstate 43 and you're 1.5 miles from my house but it's outta you're way so maybe not. At first i thought for some strange reason that you were coming down through wisconsin's hat.
