Concerning the Odometer

Post by Mr. Beefy »

Well being that my last post here was 2 years ago and about the 90GT that I had(and I even forgot that I posted her about it), I'll update....

96 Corsica Z26, 3100 pulled the cluster at 159,1XX and have driven the car about 300 miles since. so I'm around 159,4XX miles.

Concerning the Odometer

Post by Scanman88GT »

Mine turned 300,000 miles about a month ago. The digital odometer just stopped at 300,000. I'm on my second 2.8(original one blew a rear center spark plug out of the head at 210,000 miles, taking all the threads with it. I now have about 180,000 on this junkyard 2.8 that we freshened up a bit before installing. It's got a new timing chain and gears, and a high volume oil pump. I also had the head gaskets done about 6 months ago, and haven't lost a drop of antifreeze since then. It burns no oil, and I'm getting 29mpg on the highway, running the 10% ethanol.

Does it really read "ODO ERR" past 299,999?

Nope...no ODO ERR. It simply says 300,000 and has been that way for about a month and a half.

Beretta shows 160,297.   Put alittle over 1,000 miles on the engine that's in it, and 4,000 on the transmission.

Cavalier 146,000ish.  Right at 8,000 on this engine and origional trans.

Mazda B2200 85,645 miles.  Pretty low for a '87.
'94 Z26, running a newer 3100, euro tails, and extremely loud air horns.

The rex mobile has about 140,000 and the B26 has 180,000.  The B26 has the same motor and trans still. The only thing I had to do was the LIMG.

Well as I stated previously in my other thread, 212500 give or take a few miles.  All original, all put on by me with original engine/transmission, no rework, outside of alternator (2), tensioner, A/C bearing, and power steering pump/rack.  However I know it is due for some (intake gasket), though still loses less than a quart of oil every 4k and no other major leaks, well at least before the deer.  Tranny was losing fluids over time but now I know why.  lol

Gets regular Mobil 1 Syn, 5w/30 in winter, 10w/30 in summer, every 4k miles.  Just installed the 4th set of tires at 210000.  Not bad for 3 sets of Eagle GA's, too bad I can't get them anymore.  Using Eagle RSA's now.  *shrug  But they seem fine.
