Anyone ever attempt to repair the foam on a Z26 seat?  The upper left support on the driver's seat is pushed in towards the center of the seat.  I'm trying to figure out if it's an easy fix, or if a pice of metal is involved and got bent.

I'm not sure man, you may have to take to a upholstery shop and ask.

Well, it sure is lookin that way.  I know this is a common problem - guess I thought there would've been more knowledge about this.  So, when I find out - I'll post it.

Any auto apholstery shop should be able to make up a new foam insert.

I would suggest you ask for the densest foam they have for the replacement.

It's just a very poor design unfortunately.

A poor design to say the least.  If i was going to keep some GTZ seats in my car I was going to reinforce the side bolsters with some metal bracing welded to the seat frame...

A lot of foam in the side bolster. Yeah, kind of a poor design, but I don't think GM ever expected these to become enthusiast cars with a 20 year following. I know every time I took mine to the dealer they were always surprised I liked it as much as I did.
