It's at the alignment shop right now to get straightened out.

I did use the front Monroes since they had the tabs for the FE7 bar, but I did replace the shocks... they were shot. My Eibachs never sat as low as Jon's either, I'm not sure why. His red car always looked slammed.

Well right now my red car has about... 4 years if not more on those springs... and I'm sure the rust back there isnt supporting it much either. And holy hell that car is a rough ride now... Pinky is actually bearable.

From '05 to '09 I didnt notice any difference in ride height on the Z26.

Car is lined up and it drives straight! It still does make some suspension noises, but it feels pretty tight. I'm wondering if it might be strut mounts. Shane, any history on those?

So one problem I've had on it that I havent remedied yet is the wipers. They didnt work. Then I realized the fuse for the wipers wasnt in so I fixed that and the wipers came up maybe 6" and went straight back down, never to work again. And suddenly the battery kept dying on me. So I removed the wiper fuse and there's no more dying problem. Why would the wiper circuit be draining the battery with the key off? That makes no sense to me.

try findin the ground for the wiper motor and see if its frayed somewhere and not to sure on the strutmounts as the car sat on stands for bou 2yrs before i got the hybrid motor and another yr before the hybrid went in

Got a few miles on it today just driving around - even snapped a few pics. I'm definitely thinking it's the strut mounts that are making noise. You can feel it a little bit over bumps, etc. too. I do like the softness of the Monroes compared to KYBs though, for a daily driver I think that might be good. Fan works! Got it up to temp going up Bear Spring Mountain and with the gauge at about half the fan was on. It seems to smell hot even just a minute after starting it, but there arent driveability issues and if the temp gauge is accurate I'm not overheating. I got a Z headlight harness from Brendan so as soon as that is in I'll be swapping out the GT one and installing the fog lights... probably do my header panel adjustment & BMW lights at the same time. I also need to get ahold of a local guy who is going to tint the windows and show me how to buff the paint.

It's nice to be back driving a Beretta. It feels pretty quick too... haha

Strutmounts can make a lot of noise. Always replace when doing struts. You can replace them without messing up alignment though, just compress the spring and replace. You'll have to disconnect the ball joint of course and take the assembly off. But as long as you don't separate the strut from the knuckle or adjust the tie rods you'll be fine.

I suggest the 95+ style. I went to all of those parts and they seem more robust or at least designed not to be stressed as much. Although I still have some noise on the drivers side one somewhere I think.... When turning all the way on hills in parking lots/ driveways there is a pop sometimes..


I think the red strut brace is what is causing the noise..

It will be interesting to see how long the monroes last on lowered springs.


The tips, did you have the rear jacked way up and front on the ground then aligned the tips parallel to the ground? LOL I spent too much time aligning my tips the other day, now they are out too far instead of in too far so I gotta split the difference once more. Won't be bad though now, I'll just slide the tips in on the tail pipe not the muffler pipe.

I like them alot. On the right one I would try to follow the hood line, as opposed to the bumper line. Its very hard to get the lights perfect...

If you do want to get rid of them though let me know...

I don't like the look of them, the only thing I like is the light output... Then again I don't have the high/low mod on pinky yet, and they are aimed a little lower than the E36's on Red.

I find stock Beretta lights very good performers. They beat out most new cars with the single bulbs with dual filaments.

For added kick without having both high and low on at same time, take a dremel, grind the tab out of 2 high beam bulbs that prevents the wiring connector from going in, and modify the locking tabs so they will screw in, and bingo, high output low beams. No one has ever brighted me, and if they did, I'd hit em back! hhaha
