Re: i need help with a viberation
Some bearings don't need the seals. While my originals did have the seals from the factory, my replacement ACDelco hubs (#20-26K) specifically instructed to NOT have seals installed.Money pit Beretta wrote:Cool man, I just had to ask because I lost some new wheel bearings after a very short time do to not changing the seals.

That seal fits the inside of my hub, and always has... 95+ and I've always used them when I did a new bearing.Barry wrote:Too bad I didnt check this thread earlier i knew it was a wheel bearing.\
Yeah Isaac I have NO idea what that seal ring is for, I always throw it out it dosent fit any of my hubs.
All I can say is I've removed some bearings that did not have this seal, and the backside is caked in crap, and rusty as hell, and the one that I installed the seal on is nice and clean, and also lasted longer.

Re: i need help with a viberation
the seal is to keep dirt off the bearing to prevent wear. it might be on some years there is not one. but there is a gap between my bearing face and the seal its not much like 1/4inch but the way i packed it full of grease theres no way dirt is getting in for a long time.
