You need to buy a tuning setup... USPS mailbox tuning is going to get old soon... Especially when you have issues like that where you could test/tweak some things to get it to idle, but you can't do it because you don't have the tools.

Very true. The whole idea on buying a chip was so I wouldnt have to dick with it, but we see how that turned out.

LOL, yeah but you can never buy a chip for a custom application... As good as Dave's tuning skills are, and how good he has dialed in a 3400 tune, you can't predict how everyone's combination is going to act.

I see a Ostrich 2.0 in your future.

SuperDave had a thread on V6Z24 when he was messing with it. You can lean it out farther than 14.7 just not too too far for lean cruise. 14.7 is what the emissions folks want the motor to run at for a clean burn without many NOx emissions. The EGR is there to reduce NOx emissions too, allthough it does help in reducing the displacement some when it's on so it might be good for some MPG, how much I don't know.

I haven't got the PCM in my car yet to start tuning. I need to pull the stock one and see if I can mount the new one in it's place. If not then I'll need to measure how much wire I need to re-locate it and where. Then I can start soldering wires for my adapter and then plug it in and go. I need to start fleshing out a base tune as well so when I drop it on the shift points etc are dead on for my car. I do have an Ostrich and all that jazz. Just need a PROM burner and I'll be complete.

I would think you should have tested all this before worrying about where to mount the ECM... That would be last on my list, I would have had the wires all soldered up connected and verified that I'm not wasting my time.... Oh wait I did that with the A-body ECM and then thought better of going backwards ;)

Well I don't want to solder ALL the wires 2 times.... so I want to make sure I have the correct length. Not too long if I mount it where the stock one goes so that the all won't fit under the panels, or too short if I mount it say on the exhaust hump behind the HVAC controls....

Got a few pics today before parking the Camaro for the winter. I re-created my old pic with the Camaro and the 95Z since I had both cars right there in my work parking lot. I hadnt touched the Camaro in a few weeks, so it was nice to get it out on the road again. That car is a lot of fun.

I like your car in both black and gray. Hey, is that a big scratch on the Camaro? From the side window to the rear glass. Are you going to paint the hood the same color as the car? Do you have a filter top air cleaner on there?

Yup, it's a dent actually. It happened one night while it was parked on the street. I was pissed! The paint on the whole car is garbage. Ask anyone who has seen it in person without my camera tricks. There are tape lines on all the seams... jambs are still factory brown and it's all faded, scratched & chipped. The car will be GM Dark Indigo Blue metallic one of these days. I've been saying it for years, but it really will be. I swear. haha K&N "X-stream" air cleaner. It barely fits under the hood since I wedged the subframe.

I saw the camaro in person, its got some personality with the paint. Definatly looks bad ass with those tires stuffed in the back wheel wells.

Oh yeah, that was the car you parted out right? I see that you have the center bolt valve covers. Is that a GM Performance crate engine? Is that a true cowl hood? If it has a hole for the air cleaner it would be best to have a seal on top of the lid.

Where did you get those braces? Not that I need them it's just that I've never seen them on a F-body before. Is that a MSD distribtor?

No GM crate engine here, it's a little nastier than that. Factory #010 block .030" over with Vortec heads, 280H Comp cam & MSD distributor. You can find all the other info on my page (cam, compression, etc.) The cowl hood is a ~15lb pin-on, so there is no bracing or anything underneath for the air cleaner to seal up to, but it gets cold air as it is. The braces are from pro-touringf-body.com, they triangulate the front subframe with the firewall and fender mount.

The car gets parked on the street when there is no other place for it. Now I'm living in a new place with off-street parking, but I still dont have a garage until I can find a good house to buy.

That link covered everything. Don't knock the GM crates, I was going to get the Fast Burn 385 for my 67 Camaro(gone now) and put the Hot cam in it. That would have gave me 400HP. That was a sure thing, GM tested it.
