How is the problem that you had before the 3400 going to change when you put a 2.8 back in? I hate to see you waste all that time(putting the 3400 in), just to take it out and still have the same problem.

Dont shift until you hit the rev limiter. Even though that supra driver was playing around, or an idiot.

Carson why not just hollow out ur current Burrito and strap a Chainsaw motor to it. Prolly just as quick as an old 2.8 lol.

You think an SFI motor is the reason it wont start?

I hate to break it to you but the SFI function is simply an ECM fueling function... so without the SFI ECM you have a MPFI motor... the engine still functions EXACTLY the same.

Hang in there Carson, you have come this far. Yeah these guys will give you crap, but they will also help too. You will have a fun car when your done and alot more power. I'm a fan of the 3.1(had one for 12 years) and I'm not big on this 3100 that I have. I do like the roller set up in it though because... well many things, but the main thing is a bigger cam with a smooth idle and they are better on the street. You won't get close to that lift with a flat tappet cam and still have those kind of manners. It will be ruff and peaky. I'm an old school small block guy, but there is no way that I'll ever go back to flat tappet. I had a ride in a car with a built big block with a roller in it and it felt stock when you weren't getting on it. It has 535hp/tq at the wheels by the way.

If all else fails, I really need a new engine and a 3400 looks like a great idea considering it's a 3100 I have in there now, give me a price and I'd be happy to set something up, but if you still want to try with your project I completely respect that.

I have a news flash for ya.

All of our motors are MPFI after 2500 RPM. YES even the 3400 and 3500's, so THAT is not your problem!

You are making a big mistake.

'92 3500 GT gone and not really missed. It was fun. Documented 13.47 N/A.
