Problems with my 91 GTZ

3X00 the way that you are making it sound seems like there should water elsewhere in the car. If thats what you mean then I'm not so sure about it because it is just the floor behind the passenger's seat. The front is not wet on either sides and the back seats are dry. And the floor is dry on the driver's side.

Have you pulled up the carpet in the front to veirfy yet... It can appear dry but below it would be a mess... But if it is dry then I'm leaning toward door, or rear quarter seal... you can verify that by removing the inner rear plastic to see if there are any drip trails.

But everytime my rear seat floor got wet, it was "overflow" from the front leaking.

The floor is rather flat and has grooves the water can follow to flow directly to the rear of the car before getting soaked up in the carpet.

Quick question about the o2 sensor. If it is bad, would the check engine light be on? Because mine is off and I heard the light will usually turn on if it has a bad sensor.

When it fails the light will come on, just because it's off doesn't mean that it's still good.

how much are o2 sensors? i dont wanna go to a yard n get a bad one. and i relly dont think a used o2 sensor is a goox idea neway caz it might go in 2mins or 2 years

Don't even think about a used one, even if you can get it out.

Well, like I said earlier, I have an exhaust leak up near the manifold and I was wondering if that could be throwing it off. The inside of my tailpipe is pitch black with carbon and whenever I floor it, you can smell pure gasoline.

Yes those are the signs of a bad O2 sensor. Its reading wrong so its dumping fuel. Your car will run like crap when its getting flooded, just as bad as when its getting starved for fuel.

A exhaust leak can sometimes cause an issue, but your sensor is pre-down pipe connection so even if you had a leak there, the leak is after where the sensor should be reading so it should not be affected... and I've never seen small leaks like that throw off an O2 sensor that bad.

they are cheap, just replace it. Now if it cost $140 like the front one on my fiance's Impreza I could understand the hesitation on replacement, since that's what I'm doing right now.

Ok, I'll check it out tonight. Ever since the car has been messing up, it has become expensive to drive. I drove to work and back and was out about a quarter of a tank lol. I think my exhaust is leaking right before the cat because the pipe looks a little crooked and out of place, but not sure if thats where its coming from.

look at the very beginning of Ur down pipe i had that issue bout a year ago it rotted right were the do nut gasket goes and i just got a new down pipe from auto-zone for like 40 i think.

Going to replace O2 sensor today, and my buddy has a tool he can hook up to the car to see if anything else is wrong with it. The car runs and sounds like a gokart! but it should be all better soon lol.

Well, I found out what was wrong with it. It was not the O2 sensor. Turns out that it was the one of the coil packs and a dead cylinder. I replaced the coil pack and put all new plugs and wires in. It runs like a champ now.

Great news! Damn I didn't even think about the coils(they tend to go out when the miles get high). It would be better in the long run to replace the ICM(under the coils), but the cost is high(around 190 bucks). That would keep you from losing another coil. Also it would still be a good idea to replace the O2. Last time I bought one for my 90GT it was 20 bucks at my local auto parts store. The one for my 95 is 45 bucks, so you have it easy.

Yeah, theres about 177,XXX miles on it. I still got to change another coil pack, some more wires, and i got some bad vacuum lines that I need to fix still, probably going to do that tomorrow or this weekend.
