88 beretta gt shark by cars & concepts

Post by forestforge »

I just bought an 88 GT. It has a sticker on the inside trunk lid by cars & concepts.
It states this car had been modified by them on Sept. of 88. It has stripes on the sides,
in the stripes (rear to front) just before the quarter window,is the word SHARK.
ON the front fenders below the stripe, between the door & wheel opening is a cutout of
a open mouth shark.
This car also has special ground fx on the sides & rear.
Has anyone seen or heard of one like this?

GTU or street fx (what ever that other name was) . Not rare rare, but only desirable if there's that much interest.

The GFX are not GTU. Must have been added by C&C. I ll post some pix soon.

I'm thinking someone took a GTU and replaced the ground effects, or replaced the trunk lid with one that had the sticker. Would explain it being in the trunk either way.

I agree with Pat...

Sounds like a custom "Shark" pant job, possibly on a rare car but could just be the trunklid from one.

Without pictures, I'm still pretty sure it is just a paint job done by someone. There was no actual Shark Car Beretta...

The pics he posted looks like it may have a GTU front lip... and then a different rear and side body kit... I wonder if it was a GTU that someone hacked up.

Ok I am old enough to remember that Cars and Concepts modded quite a few Berettas for GM, and the whole "shark" thing was a theme GM was messing around with back then.

Most if not all of those cars were crushed, but as we have seen it is not unbelieveable that one or two got out the back door to someone.

THIS is not one of them, but may have parts from one.
