Beretta won't be at the strip again this year. Probably not the Camaro either, I've got too much house crap to do before the snow flies. I've been putting that stuff off too long.

And after talking with a couple other SPEC Stg 2 users I'm thinking my problem has to be oil related, rear main or something, because it should hold. Robert has a SPEC Stg 2 kicking around that didn't disengage because of a thickness problem...I'm hoping they sent him an old disc by accident that would work with my current (old) pressure plate. If that doesn't work out I'll call SPEC and tell them that I'm a good customer and need a deal on a new 2 or 3+.

This seems to be the norm for spec, I keep hearing more and more horror stories about them. I am not overly impressed with my Stage 3+ for the amount of money I paid for it. I am pretty sure it was slipping in 4th and 5th on the highway, so I had my pressure plate modified by a local clutch shop. When they measured the clamping force, they said it was 1500 or 1600 lbs, and stock was supposed to be around 1200. I had it increased to 2400 lbs. It doesn't slip now, but my pedal engagement point always changes, which Barry has complained of as well.

My buddy also just got a stage 3+ for his turbo corolla, and he is having nothing but issues. It is slipping like crazy, and he is only around the 250whp range.

That's weird. I bought a 3+ for my Camaro and I absolutely love it...and keep hearing good things from other v6 guys too.

Must be nice to have a "local clutch shop." I would probably beef my Stg 2 pressure plate and have a new braided hydraulic line made for the slave too.

My clutchmasters "FX300" has held up great btw. It's been on 2 engines, 2 flywheels and 3 transmissions and countless axles.

Cliff, what PN? I found one for a Cav that might work as long as the 90-91 fork, etc is the same.
Chevrolet > Cavalier > 2.8L (Getrag/Muncie 5-Spd) > 04-088-HDTZ
Pretty pricey though.

Performance and reliability aren't cheap... especially for our cars. You should know that by now.

Yes indeed. That's why I bought a SPEC instead of ebay crap.

The Clutchmasters is even more than a SPEC Stg 3+ though...

Torque converters are cheap and I can multiply torque like crazy with them :P

Some times an auto is nice to have.

Ya, that's the one... I've ran it on both the old style trans and the new (94) trans. I don't think anything is different with regards to the pressure plate and disc...

I think you can find it cheaper from distributors instead of directly from them.

Yeah, I found a SPEC 3+ for like $50 cheaper through a distributor. So I thought about calling them up and asking for a deal since I'm a good customer who's had hard luck...

The 3+ is $50 cheaper and has free shipping. And I absolutely LOVE the 3+ in my Camaro.
