Well atleast they would see me rather then almost run into me! lol3X00-Modified wrote:Because HID's put into non projector headlights is an ass hole thing to do. You spread so much light around you blind oncoming drivers badly.
Re: looking for these lights
More like you blind them, and THEN they hit you.

And then they report you for illegally installed lights... It only takes one cop to piss off and you'll end up with a ticket for it

Who OEM installs HID's in non projectors? OR a housing not DESIGNED for a HID light pattern.Cliff8928 wrote:Then explain that to all the OEMs.3X00-Modified wrote:Because HID's put into non projector headlights is an ass hole thing to do. Vampcrist light scatter with a OEM Beretta housing is worse than those OEM projector HID's that you say blind you.
Bottom line it is illegal in most states to install HID's like that, so do what you wish but don't ask how to get out of the ticket when you do get one.
Re: looking for these lights
I am running powerful HIDs on my Highbeams @ stock Beretta headlights (actually not stock, much polished ones). That way i don't blind oncoming traffic, but can still switch to shitloads of light when needed.
How ever i Cannot recommend this setup. It will actually cause you to lose long range visibility, the location of HID bulb and the stock headlight reflectors will cause very bright spot of light directly on front of the car, so you have extremely bright 'low beams' and less long distance light than stock.
I have tried to go around that issue bu adjusting the headlights as wide and high i can, but that will easily cause you starting to blind oncoming traffic even with stock lights, since there is no separate adjusters for high\low beams.
Dunno if the BMW lights have that, if they have, it could actually work!
If you do want more light output, first thing you should do, is to add relay what keeps the lowbeams on with highbeams. One of the first things to do with these cars, seriously.
I am also running switched mode power supply to give 14.5V constant to lowbeams...
What I'd like to try, is HIR bulbs ( http://hirheadlights.com/ ) It could be better than the retrofitted HID bulbs....

I've been looking at the HIR bulbs too... I have not made the jump to purchase them yet though.

Re: looking for these lights
Well I'm not saying that it's not illegal I was just commenting on the fact that theres plinty of cars that are new and old that blind you the whole time they are coming at you. In all actuallity technacly it's illegal to modify a car outside the factory specs so if a cop wanted to I would bet they could find atleast one thing on all our cars. Sorry originally made my comment as a joke sorry it went further.

Re: looking for these lights
I'm not arguing that... and just remember, mods done other than headlights don't necessarily impair a driver oncoming to you.
Last thing you need is to get hit head on and be told that the on coming driver was blinded by your Illegal headlight setup. They can't quite say that about my tint or exhaust on my car. Other than those items the rest is all street legal

Re: looking for these lights
SUUURREEEE lol Yeah that's true but wait one of these days someones going to sue Ford for going head on into one of their newer heavy duty trucks with their headlights 5 feet off the ground.
Re: looking for these lights
Luckily when you get hit head on by the driver that was blinded, they wont be ABLE to sue you because your illegal headlight setup was turned into a fine powder by the force of the collision. Ha

Re: looking for these lights
The HIR bulbs were the alternative lighting option I was looking that. I'll try them out, but if I don't like them I'll maybe retrofit some projectors into these housings.
