New guy checking in.

Post by Quick5O »

Just picked up a Beretta to build into a FWD oval track race car. Does anyone on here run one? I would love to pick your brain on set ups.

There was a guy here about a year or two ago that did. He was doing very well last I heard. You may be able to do a search and find something on it.

I'm running a 3.1, we'll see how that goes lol. I'll post pics up here soon. I have a feeling it might piss you guys off though. It was headed to the car crusher before I bought it. I do have some yellow Indy seats and mirrors for sale.

As long as you are using something that was beyond saving for the street then really there is no issue... And since it was headed to the crusher it sounds like it was a car that was no longer able to be street legal.

Now if you took a nice condition car and ripped it apart to turn into a track car then we'd have to hunt you down and castrate you. ;)

judging by the parts for sale it was a yellow indy...

Please at least post pics on why it was going to be crushed... otherwise you will get some harsh reply's on using it.

Right side mirror in great shape, left side the housing is broke and missing a hunk. Drivers seat cushion is pretty flat, pass and rear seats are great. The car has 255,000 miles on it and was wrecked in the front. The kid rear ended somebody. Not to mention he rear ended somebody AFTER driving the car hot. He drove it to the point where it stalled let it cool off then continued on his way lol. They lost the title and werent willing to make any effort to apply for a duplicate (he made that very clear when I called). Heads are at the machine shop now. I'll pull some pics and post em up.

My only request is SAVE THE GFX please.

I'll send you Base bumpers and side rails to put in its place if your that worried about appearance, but those Indy GFX especially the front one complete not destroyed is hard to find.

Its a shame that an Indy has to die this way but with the lack of a title and probably rough/rusted underside with 225k on it, then it may be best to run it hard and win some races with it... LOL

If it must be saved that way, think of it returning to its track heritage :D

I would try and save anything off of it that is Indy specific - hard to find those parts anymore...

Agreed. Save the seats, wheels, and gfx.

I got parts to if you need them. Where are you located?

Louisville KY. Seats are out, wheels are junk, but I have to run steel wheels anyway. I need a hood as this one is folded. The gfx are coming off we cant have any plastic trim. Make me an offer on the mirrors keep in mind one is broke ( the yellow housing is broke and missing a piece) I have most of the plastic trim from inside the car. door handles, tail lights, drivers head light, the front gfx is still in one piece just scuffed up a lot.
