Brighter headlights without modifications?

I am looking to smoke out my headlights as well as my turn signals but I am afraid that if I do that my stock headlights are not bright enough to light through the tint.

So I was wondering if you guys know any bulbs out there that are either bright white or even HID's that require minimum modifications or isnt a pain in the ass to install

Nothing but HID will be brighter... and those are not recommended to put in your housings since you do not have the proper projector setup to harness the light and not blind oncoming drivers.

Bottom line, don't tint your headlights. Get tinted headlight covers and remove them at night, a much wiser choice.

You can get silverstar bright white lights. They help but its nothing like HID's

You can modify 9005 bulbs by snipping a piece of plastic on the connector on the bulb to fit into the harness, and that will yield more light.

You get the stock High beam lights, and connect them to the low beam socket. If you go to clip them in there there is an extra plastic keyway on the high beam connector. That keyway is not in the connector for the lowbeams (it only has one), so simply clip off that extra plastic in the new bulb.

So, you are now running FOUR highbeams instead of low beams. Please dont do this UNLESS you tint your headlights.

The reflector bowl design has a lot to do with the brightness of the light thrown forward of the car; the "bright" bulb only puts out like 30% more output or something like that.

Right.

Stock highbeams are only like 10 watts brighter, but you can get those 9005s in 100 watts, which is twice as bright.

IIRC stock high beams are 55 watts, lowbeams 45 watts.

I wouldn't advise anyone to put 100W bulbs in their car, even if they upgrade the wiring; the excessive heat can melt and distort the housings.

I'd just do the removable covers..if your smart you will too. They look the best and is the safest option being removable at night, or when you over-tint them and have absolutely no light output. In my opinion our lights are shitty enough, and no reason to make them worse or even useless.

You can do the 4-hi mod so that your lows stay on when the highs are on.
