off topic. thats about the STUPIDIST thing ive ever heard in my entire life.... a quad 4 would rape a freakin ecotec, i get in my cobalt and floor it.... and just wait like 5 minutes to shift to second gear dam thing is sooo sloooooooow.

my 03 Cavalier wasnt slow , and that was a 2.2 Eco course it had like 150hp with some minor bolt ons. the eco is onlt 140 hp stock. all my Cavlier buddies were tryin to get my to Eco swap my beretta. its a v6 and they wanted me to swap it to a 4 cyl? come on now.
my first i dead was to just fix the Quad if that what it needed. but oh well the Z wheels off the car will do as well as a spare bumper

okay, i dont think you understand what your saying just yet... my cobalt has 152hp factory, its a 2010btw, and im not at all impressed, no bottom end torque, and very little to no top end power, my buddy's cobalt is the same thing, he has a cai and a few other bolt on mods and all he runs is a 15.6 and he's excited about that!
now, a 2.3l quad 4 in a 90 gtz runs a 16.1 out the box, nice bottom end torque and the higher you rev the bitch, the harder she pulls, just a fun motor, throw in a 92+ 3.94 trans and its been proven you'll run low 15's, throw on some other stuff, high 14's, impressive for a mostly stock 4 banger with a car that weights twice as much as a slowbalt.
im not critizing, you can do what you want, i have a z26 that had a 2.3l in it, but i have the engine out of the car, i would be more then happy to sell you the car for $500, then you can buy an ecotec and have away at it.

nm i was thinkin it was a 2.4 quad. the eco was just a idea. but i would have kept the quad in it for gas milage.
the cobalt is a diff monkey then the cavi is. the cav had all that you needed. the power was there when u wanted it and the harder u stepped on the go pedal the more it went. i only had a intake , underdrive crant and light weight alt pulleys but that car freakin ran. i never got track time with it. but she could keep up with alotta higher hp cars. but anywho , good luck with your search
