OBD1.5 to OBD1 conversion

Why not go the other way, and convert to OBD 2?? Just curious. OBD 1 was not setup on 3100 engines. When the 3100 came out in 94, so did the OBD 1.5. So unless you are going to swap to an MPFI 3.1 (not sure why you would) there is no reason to go that direction, but going to the OBD 2 would be an advantage. However it does require some work and no I'm not the guy to ask about that either. lol

the OBDII conversion has been done multiple times and proven success... I have yet to see someone downgrade to OBDI and control their 4t60e if they do not plan on swapping transmissions to a 3t40 or Manual. There was much talk, and I even tried to wire in an A-body ECM that was OBDI and controlled a 4t60e and I gave up and went to OBDII and had it done in about 1 month. I have yet to see a OBDI downgrade on a beretta running.

So I would opt for a OBDII engine harness swap and go OBDII. I did it, and posted info about it... I can answer any questions you may have, and if I can bear to part with it, I may be able to sell you my harness I used in my 95 to make it OBDII... It would end up being plug and play for you since the 3 wire fixes are done already.

3x00 how much would you want for the harness, I'm gonna try to start buying these things up and doin the conversion and sellin them as a plug and play kit cause I work at Patterson auto wrecking and it's beretta heaven here so I can get alot of stuff, let me know how much for the harness man

Ive been dying to put headers on my 95' for 6 months and have had the swap listed on 4 sites wanted section for months as well with no results but need to do the obd2 swap so actually tune and see improvements..
But it wont be anywhere near as hard nor as costly to get just the engine harness without the dash harness, cluster ect.

You have to add a wire to run the MAF one to run the Tach on the cluster and one for the change where the ABS light came in... Thats all I had to do.

Let me look over my OBDII info on here and I can see if I can revive the pictures that go with that post.

1995.. I'm not sure how much I want for it since hte car is currently under about a foot of snow so first off it wont be coming out anytime soon but at the same time I still dont know if I'm going to part with it quite yet... I still do own a 96 that could need parts from that harness one day.

This is so easy. To go either way, they both have benefits. We can argue the differences all day here, but in the end it comes down to how much you wanna spend, and what you wanna accomplish. If you wanna keep the 4t60e tranny, go with obd2. If you want to do a 5speed swap, go with obd1. Really I have a 94 car, with a 3500 turbo 5 speed, running the $59 code on OBD1 running a best of 12.52. Little Jon is running a 3400/3500 hybrid on a auto 4t60e, with a 100 shot of N2O, and pulled a best of 12.67. As far as I know, the two fastest L-body FWD cars. I have a 93, 94 and 96 service manual, anyone who wants a diagram of how to repin your harness, send $20 to me and I'll give it to you.

For those, as I have offered in the past, who want a OBDII engine harness to use in a 94 or 95 car but don't want to mess with wires I'm more than willing to do the work outlined in my thread for the OBDII conversion for you if you get me a harness.

what year wiring harness do you need to modify it 95 or 96 if 96 let me know because I got 3 96's here where I work at the salvage yard that haven't been stripped out and cut yet and a ton of other years so let me know, thanks , also how much would you charge me to do the wire fixes, oh and let me know if you need the dash, or engine harness let me know thanks man.

You need a 1996 engine bay harness if you want to go OBDII. PM me for price and details on what else you'll need from the 96 so you can do the swap fully.
