Brighter headlights without modifications?
Re: Brighter headlights without modifications?
Stock low beams are 51W (here we have 55W street legal bulbs, dunno about USA). High beams are 65W.Chad91GTZ wrote:Stock highbeams are only like 10 watts brighter, but you can get those 9005s in 100 watts, which is twice as bright.
IIRC stock high beams are 55 watts, lowbeams 45 watts.
I would NOT go 100W bulbs on stock wiring, i'm pretty sure it would heat up the wiring and headlight switch and possibly fry em on long run. If you add relay to supply the power, then maybe, but they may still melt the headlights specially on warm weather.
You can also get 70W and 80W offroad bulbs.

i tinted mine candy blue and with silverstars they work better than my clear lenses. please dont not smoke anything but small turn signal lights black. headlights seem to always end up looking brown. i did a 300c and an escalade smoking the heads and tails. tails looked sweet heads looked brown. but as the saying goes to each his own. just have fun with it. hlamps are dirt cheap for our vehicles anyway. haha.
