Post by timgerman »

Contact me if you have a Z26 front bumper with ground effects in GREAT SHAPE. If it needs work, Im not interested. I have one on my 96Z but it is ripped and needs work, looking to get a nice one to put on it with minimal work. Let me know. Email at 1863films@live.com

Thanks,

You know, you could just put all your wanted items in ONE post, rather than multiples for each thing... Just a thought.

I know, but then you may get flammed for tying up several posts when you only need one. lol

As to the bumper covers, good luck! They are hard to find any out there floating around intact that aren't warped, sagging or ripped, though you can still buy new ones I believe. Can't remember the site offhand but someone here will. My bumper got ripped, and I was lucky enough to hit a yard that had a decent one that I just had to repaint and rebuild the support for the lip and it only cost me 100 bucks.

Same goes for visors. Those that have ones that are in good shape are likely still using them. I know mine were garbage. Engines, you just need to do your research, hit a few yards or go online and look up some yards that have them. Sometimes you can find a good deal on one.

You don't come across a good front lip. The entire front bumper is one piece, so you have to come across a whole good bumper... And I can guarantee there are NONE up here but mine. lol

Nope. The only one I have, is on the car. And where I live, there are none around here but mine, is what I was saying. I know the yards up here don't have any Z stuff, let alone beretta's. I know of like 3 other bases that are still in operation in the area and one other Z that's an hour north, BRM and in much rougher shape. But no parts.

When I did my rebuild/restoration of my Z after the deer hit, I had to drive 5 hours to Wisconsin for most of my parts and 4 hours south near Detroit for the bumper.

I have an entire kit off a red 96Z that only had 69k on it when totalled.

Only catch is the pass. side side skirt is cracked but its clean and could be fixed.

Where are you located I can Greyhound it.

i have a Near mint z26 front bumper, no sag the bottom support is mint slight split 1/4 inch long on the bottom lip. but im not going to part with it LOL. i got lucky back in the fall to come across a 95 z26 at a scrap yard, i spent 2 days there stripping it and 2 truck loads of parts off the car, both bumpers, lights, head light support all the plastics for the ventilation in the front, the seats, interior trim, MINT hood, trunk lid/spoiler. and whatever else i snagged off it, for $140 bucks. and sold the ECM and engine cradle for $80.00. so i got every part i need to swap to mine for $60.00

They are out there, you just gotta find them at the right time... before they get crushed LOL. and dont forget to take a drill like i did and not take the brackets for the side moldings :(

Wish i can find more at that scrap yard. they are cheap for parts.

Just for the record, the word MINT means NEW. Now things may be LIKE mint, but unless they have never been used or installed, they honestly will never be mint. lol And if its going to have flaws in it, then it certainly ISN'T mint. :D

I just see that get thrown around a lot and I think people don't realize what it means... :P

But its nice to see that people have some good parts laying around to help out others!

well its close to mint in my mind LOL. it does have a small slice near the drivers tire at the bottom from it sitting on the ground at the scrap yard and being pushed but its just a small tear 1/2 inch long.. and in the vents at the bottom between the lower lip it has 1/4 inch crack starting but not noticeable unless you get right up to it and i plan on repairing that before i use it. but the lower lip and support bracket behind is mint no cracks or anything in the bracket so it doesn't sag at all and from what i hear is hard to find one that doesn't sag.

I just wish there were more of them around the scrap yard i go to, i would strip them bare, getting harder to find parts and its rare to see them at the scrap yards. the one i found and stripped the insurance slip was in the car and was still valid, wasnt that bad of shape either, new brakes and stuff all the way around body was decent. had a little rust underneath but was certainly drivable. shame to see them get crushed. if i had a ton of money i would buy up everyone one i find and restore them.
