My Beretta Story
Re: My Beretta Story
why yes, yes it is. If the People's Soviet Republik of Kalifornia has ANY good trait, this would be it.
Re: My Beretta Story
I checked it and it has no rust that I could find. The thing I feel wierd iss that I bought this car in Los Angeles but the car was first sold here in Fresno, CA. My other Beretta was also first sold here in Fresno. I think I am going to be the only one in my town to cruise in a GTU. I never seen one.

My black car is also from California, hell next summer I might even stop by where it was sold back in 1992...

Re: My Beretta Story
Well I finally had time to clean my motor a little. I still have not done the hood but it is in the process. Here are some pics of what I did.

Ey hermano, te queria preguntar, why the hell do you have two different license plate numbers on the GTU??

Re: My Beretta Story
Really like it man. Still love to see a 2.8 or a 3.1 in a car. Nice work.
keep'em flying!
Re: My Beretta Story
I knew it has diffrent plates. I just do not feel like wasting money on new plates. When I have extra money I'll get new ones. I would take off the front one ( That plate is not the original) but if I do not have a plate I'll get pulled over easier. If I do get stopped i'll pretend like I did not know. Good Eye your the first one to ask.Wanako wrote:Ey hermano, te queria preguntar, why the hell do you have two different license plate numbers on the GTU??

Re: My Beretta Story
I always felt that the Beretta was more an old-school car than a tuner... but, the great thing about a L-body is that like any GM alphabet car, you can mix and match and having something greater than the whole for a whole lot less money than you expect. The hood vents off a Z34 look great on our hoods, especially if you have a raised hood scoop. Wheels? Pick one of a thousand!
I was always partial to a smaller wheel (the one off the 86-87 Cavalier Z24 has been near and dear to my heart), and always a modest body kit... the pieces parts off a Z26 fit the bill nicely. Also, if you know a PRIMO body shop, a Lumina Z34 spoiler can be cut down to fit our trunklids...
As for engines, from what I have read, the 3400 out of the Venture is the one most suited for a beating. But, i would love to do a 3800 SC conversion, or a 3500 G6 GTP/manual shift conversion.
Anyways, these are old, fun cars that are gone... they're just gone here. Here in northern NY, between three huge counties, I've seen FOUR Berettas... FOUR and that's it.
Corsicas are getting just as scarce. What does chap my a** is that this car was canned so that GM could build... the Malibu? (YAWN)

Well I was looking at the muffler really close and it was rotten. I just moved it back and forth and it came of. So instead of having nothing I put my cherry bomb glasspack. I actually like the sound on the 2.8. It sounded farty in the 3.1 but not in the GTU. Both cars are dirty. they need a good wash. My dog decided to come into the picture LOL.
