Let him do what he wants. If he is going to abandon it that easily he's not dedicated enough to begin with.

and I fixed the topic title...

You know, I have a really stupid question, maybe I missed this someplace...

Why are you unable to fix your current quad??? What was wrong with it?

its a z26, its purple, and if you ever seen a gtz, and a z26, you would notice a few key differences, especially in the interior. also, i figure why put the money into the z26, when i can get a gtz like i always wanted and put the money into that and be happy.

True, but the quad Z is more rare. What was wrong with yours anyway?

I seem to recall you were having trouble with it eating belts, cooling problems or something?

i got that all taken care of a looooong time ago, i was driving it everywhere without any problems, i even drove it to the ocean and back a few times, only thing it was eating after that was ps pumps, but they were all warrenty and they are easy to swap out so i didnt care too much.

i ended up cracking the head between the intake and exhaust manifold valve, common problem actually with the 086 head, right now i have another 086 head that is brand new at the machine shop getting port work done along with the intake manifold, and i was in the works of getting an engine built for it, w41 pistons, cams, a flywheel lighter then a fidanza, and some other little mods here and there. i dont really care for the z26's and just dont see the point in putting a $2,000+ motor in a car i dont much care for.. so if i find a gtz, i can throw this in to it... lol.

You might also want to have the exhaust manifold ported out too. Its useless to have a ported head and not port the exhaust manifold or add a header. Just to inform ya ;)

So your gonna use a Quad Z as a parts car? Thats not right man. At least try and sell it or something, even with no engine in it, at least then it'll live on.

I'm curious. What "key differences" are there between , say a '93 GTZ and a '94 Z26 interior?

The door panels and rear plastic panels are different. Seat belt mounting is totally different as well. 94-up is all in the door again.

different shades of grey, door panels are different, seat belts are mounted on the piller rather then attached to the door, the kick panels are different, the suspension is completly different, also the 90-91 quad 4's are different from the 92 style wich are different from the 93-94 quads. =)

2.2h8ta if you want the quad to live on, your more then welcome to come and look at it, make it easy on me and get it the hell out of the garage, but the motor, trans, axles, and stereo system stay, and the system cant be removed untill its out of the garage...

I know about the different mounting bosses/cooling system setup, etc on the motor. You said the interior. My '92 GTZ has pillar mounted belts. Aren't they pillar mounted all the way from '91 up to '96? I believe my kick panels are the same as up to '96? How are the supsensions completely different? I'm not seeing these "glaring differences", not trying to be difficult...
