finally found a gtz, brought it home, pics pg 4!
Re: looking for a 91-93 beretta gtz, my last attempt!
87-90 are door mounted, 94-96 are also door mounted in the z26 like in the picture below,

also the suspension on z26 was all fe3 and some were even fe1. gtz's had fe7 with bigger sway bars, and the handling between the two is day and night, there was some debate about the racks being different, i cant confirm this, if all that isnt enough, just the name itself is a reason to have it, gtz sounds kick ass, and its deffinetly distinct, where as you say z26, people think of z28's and z24 cavaliers...

True on the suspension. I had forgotten that. Good point.
I see what you're getting at. Was just curious.

Actually... The 87 and early 88 were pillar mounted... The Z26 could be had with FE2 and 15" Wheels with hubcaps, but no FE1 like on a base.speedy wrote:87-90 are door mounted, 94-96 are also door mounted.

How clean is the body on the Z26? Do you have any more pics, like the underside or anything?
I don't want anything to do with the quad, just the chassis.

You're right Cliff. After my last post I got to thinking about the belts and went and looked at my '87. It is indeed pillar mounted.

Also FE7 is not done with a bigger bar Speedy it's actually quite smaller than the FE3 front bar.... it's simply a direct acting sway bar that bolts to the strut. Just be aware of the part avalibility for stuff like that though. Endlinks are very hard to find, and also if you have the strut with the tab, and not the bracket then you can not replace those with KYB's they do not come with the tab's so you limited on choices if you wish to lower the car or change them from stock.
Re: looking for a 91-93 beretta gtz, my last attempt!
im not worried, if i want i can always use the parts from the z26 to do a complete conversion on the front suspension. =)

Then you have FE3 again...speedy wrote:im not worried, if i want i can always use the parts from the z26 to do a complete conversion on the front suspension. =)
Now I'm really confused on why to bother searching for a FE7 deal.
Re: looking for a 91-93 beretta gtz, my last attempt!
If I am correct, the FE7 suspension was gone with the GTZ, the Z26's were only FE3. I dont know if the Quad Z26 was an exception, but I dont think so.
Edit...sorry didnt see 2nd page...too late...

There has gotta be swaybar endlinks from anOther car that works for fe7. Almost every new car uses direct acting.

End links for the 92+ style FE7 are available, and you can build your own adjustable ones. You can also convert to the 90-91 endlink bracket to run any struts you want on your car. That's what I'm doing and why I made my own adjustable endlinks.
I will agree that the 91-93 interior is nicer than 94-96...the door pulls and rear panels being the biggest differences.

no, then i could throw my eibachs on from the z26 and get new struts without the mount.3X00-Modified wrote:Then you have FE3 again...speedy wrote:im not worried, if i want i can always use the parts from the z26 to do a complete conversion on the front suspension. =)

Which means you would need the FE7 strut bracket like what woody is making, or trying to find.speedy wrote:no, then i could throw my eibachs on from the z26 and get new struts without the mount.3X00-Modified wrote:Then you have FE3 again...speedy wrote:im not worried, if i want i can always use the parts from the z26 to do a complete conversion on the front suspension. =)

Re: looking for a 91-93 beretta gtz, my last attempt!
how do you figure? if i use the exact same set up that the z26 has up front and put on my eibachs and struts and sway bar from the z26, it shouldnt be a problem right?? im a little confused right now.... lol

Re: looking for a 91-93 beretta gtz, my last attempt!
If you use the sway bar from the Z26 then your DOWN TO FE3 suspension.
You want a GTZ for the FE7 suspension, that consists of special valved struts that only GM makes, no aftermarket duplicates, AND the DIRECT ACTING FE7 Swaybar. If you eliminate that then you don't have FE7 anymore. You said suspension was a reason why you were looking for a GTZ and now your going to reverse it back to what you have.

suspension was only part of it, the other part of it is the interior(much nicer imo) and the name itself. GTZ.
