2.2l mods.

Post by sp33d1nc0rs1ca »

What can i do internally to this motor to squeeze more juice from it other than F/I? my one mechanic friend and i did my head gasket on friday and he said, "wow... the inside of this engine is super clean. one of the cleanest i've seen for the age. What do you do to it?" i told him oil change every 3k with Wix filter and nothing but Castrol Gtx. Lucas fuel injector cleaner and 1 can of Restore. i want to keep the engine for a while after hearing that from a long time pro. so whats out there? mild cam? injectors? anything? Let me know.

I personally haven't really heard of any real internal mods for a 2.2L. You could always do the "true" CAI, maybe port and polish the head , intake , and exhaust manifolds a bit. Exhaust maybe. They're really not built to scream. They're built to save gas. You could consider a NO2 fogger system or something of the sort maybe.

haha very true. but just being the condition of the engine itself i figure squeeze what i can out of it. i'm not looking to be super fast just a little quicker. i do have a donor for the 5spd swap. but a port and polish does sound like a good idea. maybe some kieth black pistons. little bore. who knows.

Just a note. Boring a motor out does NOT provide horsepower.
