Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd
sounds like a roadtrip to do some knee-capping is in order.
is this the PC place that you said the guys on nastyz28 raved about? i'd be calling the guy till he got sick of hearing the phone ring.
once you get your headers back i think you can add this to the list of places which you should never to do business with again

Yeah, that's the place. And believe me, I'm calling him constantly. Jonesy on nastyz said he's as surprised as I am that there has been such the hold up.

Indeed they do. They are still in production though, as stated.

Building headers and coating them with powder coat... yeah that's the same thing and comparable...Slinky wrote:You guys are a bit over the top, i paid for headers from wot-tech almost a month ago and wont get them for another 5-6 weeks, maybe

Were you told it would be a 1-2 day turnaround? I doubt it.Slinky wrote:You guys are a bit over the top, i paid for headers from wot-tech almost a month ago and wont get them for another 5-6 weeks, maybe
I did FINALLY get them tonight. The coating isn't as good as I expected, but I guess it's tolerable. Lesson learned.
So I got them installed and the drivetrain in the car...I'd probably have it running if I didn't have locate the chain my dad used to go buy a 69 Cutlass with last week. I went over to his place to get the cherry picker back and there was no chain to be found. After searching for quite a while he remembered it was still on the trailer with the Cutlass. That was fun...

I actually got Tiffwad to help a little bit so she brought Frank out too.

Re: Project 91 "SS" 3400/5spd
This thread went to hell quick... LOL
But yes its easier to do that method if you dont have all the correct tools. I think if you guys had a trans jack like I did you wouldnt bother lifting the car up that high and you would do what I did and drop the motor in and then use the jack to get the trans up there. The trans jacks make a HUGE difference since you can position the trans perfectly with the plate its sitting on and then just slide it in like butter. Mine went SO easy this year.

Yeah Jon, try that with a 2-piece trans bracket that is welded together...
It was a interesting from the bottom...the hoist legs were in the way of positioning the engine exactly where it needed to be, but dropping it 6-8" at a time and repositioning the engine worked. It didnt roll very easily on an overloaded creeper! hahaha
