Re: Daytime Running Lights module
I didn't know '90 Beretta's came with DRL's at all?? Hell, my '92 doesn't have them either. Matter of fact did ANY Beretta come with DRL's? I worked at GM during the '90's and don't remember them on Beretta's. MAYBE '95 and up, but I didn't think so...
Wait, what are you callling a "daytime running light" because to me it's when the low beams are on anytime the car is on during the day. I know NONE of my Beretta's have EVER had DRL's.

Re: Daytime Running Lights module
I think thats required in canadialand
Re: Daytime Running Lights module
My 96 has DRL's cannot remember what year they started. I have to have my ebrake up one notch so they don't come on.
But barry is right that Canadia needs DRL's.... good luck finding that module, I doubt it was a GM part, probably installed by a conversion company.

DRL's mostly use low powered (like 8 volts instead of 12-15) high beam side of the lights, not low beams, at least with our cars. US, I think only the 96 year had them, possibly some 95's. 94 and older definitely did not have them in the US.

Correct, Canada had DRL way earlier then US models. I still need that module, anybody?
Re: Daytime Running Lights module
Is it the same as the US 96? If so I have several.

Re: Daytime Running Lights module
Wire a switch to a ground to the brake input on module... I now leave that switch on and it provides that input to the module with a ground signal telling it to leave the DRL's off, but if I switch that off my sentinel and DRL's still work.Chad91GTZ wrote:My 96 has DRL's cannot remember what year they started. I would also be very surprised if the module is the same as on a 96... I agree and think its an aftermarket conversion that was done.

DRL's started in canada in i think 90. It was a requirement that GM started carrying over to the US in late 95. I know my 95 had the DRL's.

I stand corrected. It is high beams. And the e-brake trick works on Chevy trucks too.DTMAce wrote:DRL's mostly use low powered (like 8 volts instead of 12-15) high beam side of the lights, not low beams, at least with our cars. Re: Daytime Running Lights module
Heh, just happened to be in my fuse panel and noted number 16 is for .... D.R.L.'s.......
Fuse slot is there but it's empty and there are no metal contact blades either. So, it seems it's quite possible the DRL's were factory installs but only for cars headed for Canada. Otherwise it seems though they put the slot in the fuse block it was left empty and the module uninstalled.
