96 Z26 Parts Wanted

Im looking for the center control knob for the heater selector switch. mine was MIA when i got the car, got various ones from different cars and nothing will fit. need the proper one.

Front ash tray that goes in the center cup holder/ash tray compartment.

Also need a lens for 1 fog light i think the right side but i will double check, i used my spare set i had to go with my Z kit for the 88 for my 96 so im short 1 lens to fixing the old ones to use.

Foglights are the same for both sides, so it doesn't matter. My scrapyard charges 20 for the foglight lenses, rest will fit in my pocket.

Because when I got the lense for you, it was raining and it fit in my coat pocket.

its the RH side lens i need, i didnt know they could be swapped around , 1 was cracked on my 96 when i got it so i used the spare set i had put away with my Z kit for the 88. going to maybe start getting that together and putting it on the 88 soon so ill need a lens.

the heater knob is the center one i need. the others wont fit on it, and it has to be from a beretta or corsica maybe.. i tryed a bunch from the JY off just about every GM that was there and none will fit.

the knob and the ash tray i think is the only 2 parts missing from the entire car.

I wont be able to send money till next friday via paypal, so no rush on parts, was just putting it out there to see if someone had them.

anyone have a upper filler for a Z or other thats tinted ? for cheap.. theres a Z in town where i work and i know where they live its parked there all the time and it looks like hell with a huge hole broken out of the upper filler, id like to drop one off so they can fix it cuz it looks like crap and i cant stand to drive by and look at that every day lol. it also has the stock Z rims too, i only have a clear lower in my collection..


... something ive been wanting to ask but keeps blowing by me.. will the older grand prix door panels fit out cars ? they look so dam close to being able to fit and would the dew strips from that fit our cars.. like 90/91 grand prix.. theres 2 or 3 of them at the JY i go to. None are turbo just a plain old 3.1 L

The control check and see if the metal clip is still on the part that sticks out. Mine had the same problem. My cousin actually noticed it for me lol. Check that because once that metal clip came off mine went right on no problem

i havent been to the cheap JY for 4 weeks or so now, i only ever found 1 beretta there and i stripped the body panels and seats but was last year i didnt have my Z then.

there were a few around yards withing 15 min from my house but they want too much for any part. one place wanted $40 for a used egr valve from a 3.1 L, i could get that at the cheap JY for 2.00.

id take all 50 beretta's if i had cash for that LOL i could go to my own yard and look for parts then. i need to win the lotto but i guess i have to play to do that

ill check the metal clip part for the switch if its still on there, but i still think the ones i grabbed are different shaped slightly might look funny but still work.

I would really really love to have GTZ grey door panels for the 96 but shipping would be a killer, i dont care much for the z26 ones, worst design ever, the little handle part to pull the door closed is where my arm sits when im driving and drives me nuts, the gtz ones have the solid handle part that comes up and the arm rest part is solid those would be really nice to have.

And someone please tell me if early 90's grand prix door parts will fit our cars. panels / dew strips / door handles.. the doors look like they could be bolted right onto the beretta by eye.. i have not measured one.

You can make anything fit anywhere. Its all about how creative you are.

As for the fogs, they work for both sides when you flip them over, they are marked TOP LH and TOP RH. Pay attention to how it comes out of the plastic housing, because how you THINK it should go back in is the opposite.

And for the record, GTZ door panels aren't a direct swap. The holes to mount them aren't there, but where they go is formed into the metal, so its a matter of having the brackets, and drilling the holes. There is a writeup on the front page actually. On those, I wouldn't worry so much about shipping as finding them. When I see good ones I buy them, and I won't sell them typically, because I might need them someday, lol.

I know how it is, i find stuff at the JY and bring it home and put it away and hold onto everything lol. my basement is full my back room is full and i have stuff at the shop as well.

My dad buys and sells stuff, scraps cars ect for a hobby more then anything does good at it too, bought a truck for 400 bucks sold it the next day for 1200, he just got a old goat (dodge) 4x4 with a 7 1/2 foot myers plow for 400 bucks and prob sell me the plow cheap.

Im the exact opposite, i buy stuff and keep it lol
