BerettaFest NE New Hampshire 2011
Amy put this together.
(Some Travel Times...Central PA: 7hr...Montreal: 4.5 hours)
Sept 29th - Oct 2nd
Northeast BerettaFest – New Hampshire
Thursday: Everyone gets there
· Group Dinner
· Thursday Night
Friday
· Late Morning/Afternoon: Road Rally (Drive & Scavenger Hunt…Race by time and lowest mileage)
· Night: Lee Speedway (5pm - ?)
Saturday:
· Day
o Car People: Test & Tune @ Epping (8am -5pm) Chevy Fest Weekend!
o Non Car People: Outlet Shopping; Museum; York Beach
· Night: Group Dinner
Sunday
· Cookout/Carshow
The Lee Speedway thing would be just a spectator event for us. It's an oval track with a few different divisions...usually makes for a pretty good show. They have concessions and beer, so it’s a decent place to make a night out of. Jon works at a comparable track down here in CT, so I would need to do a little further investigating, but for little higher of a price, you can get into the pits and check out all the cars and their transport rigs and such.
The road rally is something I've done at British car events in the past. A general way of how it would work is everyone gets a set of driving instructions and a set time to start (usually each car starts 5 minutes apart); your odometer reading is also recorded when you depart. Intermingled in the road directions are scavenger hunt-style clues. As you drive the directions, you and your passenger need to keep your eyes peeled for the answers to the scavenger hunt clues. The objective is to get the scavenger hunt questions correct in the lowest amount of time and traveling the least miles. It is on roads, so speeding and such is taken at the drivers own risk.
One more thing that sounds pretty interesting is the potential for a cruise to the top of Mount Washington. I just found out today from a close friend (ironic, huh?) that Mount Washington does special sunrise and sunset drives to the peak of the mountain. It is a beautiful drive to get there, and the views from the top are amazing. Just something else that might make its way onto the itinerary!
Please reply if you plan on attending and how many people will be with you.
Leaning toward the later date to give us more time to get interested people and planning done.

Me and Stacy should be able to make it.
The later date would be better for us.

Re: BerettaFest NE New Hampshire 2011
By mapquest thats a 14 hour drive for me. If its the later weekend I can probably make it. I doubt it will be in the Z26 to go that far though.. Especially since all the clutch fluid magically leaked out last week out of nowhere..
My money situation should be good enough by then to go.
If everything works out, I will bring the Cobalt, and most likely will have my girlfriend with me if she can get the time off work.

Sounds good guys. The weekend will be the later one. Amys working on planning now and expect quite a bit of options open for stuff to do. She's good at this crap.

Slight issue with hotels... Loudon I guess is having a huge event on the weekend we picked so hotels are book solid as well as really expensive. We have two choices, move to the weekend before 15-18th for the cheapest rates, or the weekend after 29th-2nd for cheaper but not the cheapest rate.
I need feedback on this ASAP

Re: BerettaFest NE New Hampshire 2011
I will start a quick list of those who have already said it...
Later is better,
Barry
Eric Tiff
Pat Stacy
Will(possibly better to be later, More time to save up/get established with a new job)
Correct me if I'm wrong and I need some more feedback from others as well to know if the 30-2nd time line is better, Just remember its not the cheapest hotel rates, but there is avalibility... the cheapest rates are the week prior.

Re: BerettaFest NE New Hampshire 2011
Amy here…
Is anyone interested in Northeast Tee Shirts? I have a design in mind, but I haven’t looked at pricing yet. Right now, I am just looking to hear if people are interested and how many might be ordered. No commitment yet.
I also heard back from New England Dragway today. If we end up going with October 1st, we will be there for Chevy-Fest…how fitting. We would be running in a run-only class, but they gave me the option of doing an eliminator just for us (with a trophy from the dragway and all for the winner). If we do the eliminator, you can go run-only too.
They also have a car show that weekend as well. If anyone doesn’t want to race, they can enter their car in the show and walk around/watch the racing.
