air bags for my gtz.
air bags for my gtz.
i recently purchased my 2nd gtz as some of you may know. this one has a 3.1l auto where the other one has the quad 4. anyways, the previous owner at some point removed the front air bags and left the rear ones in along with the tank, ect, everything for the front hook up is still there though, and the rear bags work and raise and lower the car just fine, im wondering if anyone knows where i can get the parts to put air bags back on the front, i know nothing about air ride suspension, i do know about hydraulics and pneumatics though... so any help on this would be great...

Re: air bags for my gtz.
I'm guessing the front ones went bad and he didn't want to spend the money to put new ones in. I think they run around $500. I looked into it year ago and then again recently because I toying with the idea of bagging my Cavy. Thought that they would have come down in price over the years, but no luck.

I don't know exactly where to go. I just googled "cavalier air-strut", or something similar (air ride), when I was lookin for my cavalier. There should be bolt-in versions available, just gotta look a bit.

Universal Air Suspension (UAS) makes a bag designed to fit over a standard strut:

This is basically the standard bag that most people run in the Euro scene. I've heard nothing but good things about them. They can be had for less on eBay... search for "strut bag". You'll also need to get the mounting plates for these.
I'm interested in seeing what car you have with air ride. I tried searching your posts and didn't see any mention of it...

Re: air bags for my gtz.

this is the only pic i have of it, its mikes old gtz, (old bstuff webmaster), i picked it up cheap but it deffinetly needs some work, tune up, cleaning, power steeringhose, and the front air bags again... its a shame, i just bought it and its been in my garage collecting dust since...

That's quite the bit of history you picked up. The last picture I saw, it was aired out on some chrome wheels. Looking forward to seeing it make a comeback!
