Post by 88gtz »

I started tearing apart my 93 gtz and I can see rust trial going down the valve stem and a pool of rust around one of the intake valves, I am sure the head is cracked looking for a good head, assembled or bare. lmk what you got :Search:

I have a couple. Don't know how good of shape they are in though.. one is from the Quad that in the car now that now has an 086 head on it. It's still good I just upgraded when everything was apart to fix the cam tower oil leak. This one might just need machined to make sure its flat for a good headgasket seal.. the valves and such were fine.

The other is on the old motor still assembled.. no idea how good it is.

I can get pictures Sunday if your interested in either of those let me know.

Does your 93 have a plastic or aluminum water outlet/thermostat housing?

What are you looking to get for them? I'm going this weekend to pick up a new trans for my syclone, I don't know what head my 93 has. Is the 086 a better head?

Ok, good. I have a 955 casting cylinder head from a 1 owner 89 Calais LD2 Automatic 4 door Grandma car. The car had only 77,000 miles on it and it had clean oil, clean coolant, and good compression. The head has not been cleaned or checked for cracks. The 955 is the second best flowing of all quad 4 heads and is less prone to cracking than the 086 head is. I'm open to offers.

If your 93 has the original head, it should be a 753 casting which is the worst for flow out of the early heads robbing you of that extra 5 ponies! The 086 is the best flowing head but prone to cracking more than others. Having the aluminum water outlet with the thermostat located on the head, you will need to run a 955, 086, or 753. The 456 and 303 heads will not work for your application without modifications to your cooling system.

No problem! And good deal, Quad 4's are fun! I've had mine for a little over 2 years now, it's my first Beretta and my first quad 4 car. Cars and car parts are my life, so I tend to soak up tech info like a sponge, lol
