1995 Beretta 3100 5-speed Swap Parts
1995 Beretta 3100 5-speed Swap Parts
Hello all. My name is Rob. I am a new member here and I have a 95 Beretta 3100 auto. I got the car off of my neighbor for $200 and have since put over $600 into making it into a half decent car. I have installed stupid stuff like a glass pack muffler and a cone filter. I'm honestly thinking about performing the 3800 supercharged swap. But right now I want to think smaller and perform a 5 speed swap on it. I am an ASE certified mechanic so I know what is involved with it and I have researched it some to see basically what I would need to complete it. I have all the tools necessary to do it...I just need the parts. I am going to be getting my taxes here soon and I am interested in seeing if anyone has these parts and if they can help me in my quest. If not, I might be interested in selling my car. I'm not a bullshitter so if anyone has the parts please PM me or leave a message here and I will check it throughout the day from my phone. Thanks everyone!

There is no computer hurdle for 94/95's. Duh.

I've got pedals, 92+ mounts, shift cables and some other odds & ends. You'd still need a flywheel, shifter, hydraulics and the trans itself.

I have access to a shifter, 5 speed shift plate, 3.94 getrag transmission with hydraulics & clutch/flywheel, axles, and jack shaft. Note: (These are not my parts, but I can remove them, buy them and resell them, then ship them)... These parts would be from maybe 1 or a few different cars in order to get the best and proper parts.

Yes there is... the Neutral Safety switch park neutral switch setup. Its not a computer thats native to a 5-speed so you have a bunch of stored codes too that you can't remove. Remember how many were showing up on the 96 that we programmed out.heavywoody wrote:There is no computer hurdle for 94/95's. Duh.

That's the 96. There are no codes on the 95 (at least that illuminate the SES, or affect drive-ability).
The P/N switch and the CSS are simple fixes; while ghetto for the P/N switch, it works.

Well I guess thats more of what I was referring to... since if he does not do this he will have a 4k limiter, aka computer hurtle.heavywoody wrote: The P/N switch and the CSS are simple fixes; while ghetto for the P/N switch, it works.

Sorry guys. I am mostly an import dude. I'm in New Brighton, PA (right outside of Pittsburgh). If anyone has the parts and can give me a roundabout price estimate PM ME. I work ALL day and I am not allowed to use my personal e-mail at work. I am just kind of doing this because I want a 5 speed car and it makes more sense to swap my Beretta (which I love) than to sell it for another car with less power. As soon as I get one more of my W2's I'll be able to file my taxes and get my money. I'm just trying to figure out what a roundabout price is. If I have to drive a little ways to get the parts so I can save on shipping (especially for the trans) then I will do that. Thanks for the fast replies everyone!

That's right, I totally forgot about that. It'll act like the car is in park the whole time. I'm also going to install an aftermarket tach just until I can get my hands on a cluster with a tach and trip meter. I mean, I'm 28 and I have one kid and another on the way (due in March) and I'm kind of working on a budget and time contraint so I need to make sure that once I start this, I can get it done in a day or two. Anyone that's done this before, is it hard? Is there anything other than the computer thing that I need to know? What can I do to make the computer recognize that it's not an auto anymore? What should I need to know or look out for?
I'm an engine builder and I just sold my last swapped car. It was a 1992 Dodge Colt hatchback with a fully built Mitsubishi Eclipse turbo engine that dynoed at 308 hp at the wheels and 284 lb ft of torque in a car that weighed 2375 lbs. I'm not looking to go crazy with my Beretta but it's either swap it to a 5 speed or sell it and I'm not ready to get rid of it. So any thoughts or warnings would be appreciated.
