care to provide pics or links to where you have seen this. i've been around the Grand am scene for the last 8+yrs and have never heard of anyone trying this or seen any GA's with camaro wheels.1995berettaz-26man wrote:If and when I do the swap I want to keep my factory GTZ wheels, I also considered doing the 92 camaro 25th anniversary wheel conversion also since alot of grand am guys are doing this anyway I like the rims and they kinda carry a bit of GTZ styling too that's why I like them

Re: Upgrade To 12" Front Brakes
The fins are there for structural reinforcement. F-body calipers flex because the tops of them don't have the reinforcement ribs; that's why I chose the C5 calipers since I don't want caliper flex to affect my braking performance.1995berettaz-26man wrote:I was wondering about those fins or ribs in the c5 caliper I wonder how much I could grind them down, they almost act as though they are cooling fins with the air trapped between the wheel and caliper to keep them babies cool, if I could grind them down enough to make a Gtz 16" fit I should be good cause of how much the wheel adapters for the lug pattern spaces the wheel out hopefully maybe

Yeah, rather than grinding down fins on the expensive vette calipers, why not just get Camaro calipers like I have.

Same here, I've been around the Grand Am scene for about 6 years and a GAOC member for 4 and I haven't seen any either... I'm throwing out the BS flag for multiple reasons on this one! lol99GaGT3X00 wrote: care to provide pics or links to where you have seen this. i've been around the Grand am scene for the last 8+yrs and have never heard of anyone trying this or seen any GA's with camaro wheels.

had to google this one

1 reason the offset would be ridiculous.
the only RWD rims i have ever seen anyone put on a Grand am were the mustang bullitt style rims. but the way the camaro rims are it wouldn't work for a number of reason..

Re: Upgrade To 12" Front Brakes
ok, so for some clarification... to do the n-body front brake swap, you will need the n-body knuckle and bearing assembly (same as beretta bearing? my car is a 95 if that makes a difference), trimming part of each knuckle that is used for steering on the n-body cars, and the obvious brake disk/pads/caliper...
is the bearing the same between the L-body and N-body? and utilize the beretta axles? now how about the ABS sensors? those are always screwed up on the n-body cars... i need to replace my brakes, and i have a bearing going out i think... might be the time to upgrade. should be able to get the main swap parts at a 'free parts day/$50 all you can carry' at the wreckers!

I'm just wondering if I could use C6 calipers instead of C5 calipers.. I like the Corvette font of the C6 better. I'm going to look into that.

Yes! But keep in mind, only C6 base model calipers will work.SummitBalt08 wrote:I'm just wondering if I could use C6 calipers instead of C5 calipers.. I like the Corvette font of the C6 better. I'm going to look into that.

Re: Upgrade To 12" Front Brakes
My god dude, read the dang thread, that's why it's here!!! lol Anyway, just for you I will answer all your questions that are already answered in the FIRST POST of page 1 http://www.beretta.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1317.berettaboi wrote:ok, so for some clarification... to do the n-body front brake swap, you will need the n-body knuckle and bearing assembly (same as beretta bearing? my car is a 95 if that makes a difference), trimming part of each knuckle that is used for steering on the n-body cars, and the obvious brake disk/pads/caliper...

Question: is the bearing the same between the L-body and N-body? and utilize the beretta axles?
Answer: NO! Not even close, they mount differently which is why you have to use the aluminum 99-05 N-body knuckle and matching N-body wheel bearing. This will change you wheel bolt pattern from the original 5x100 to 5 x115...
Question: and utilize the beretta axles?
Answer: No! You need to disassemble your axles and reassemble them with N-body outer CV joints.
Question: now how about the ABS sensors?
Answer: You use the N-body ABS Sensors as well.

Re: Upgrade To 12" Front Brakes
Don't forget to pick up the n-body lower balljoints to mount on your beretta control arms so the knuckle will work or your gonna be m-f-ing it when you do so
