Using the stock 2.5 turn rack, hoses connected together with T-piece for DIY fluid expansion tank.

Weba, how did you run your belt?

Why not just get a manual rack that fits our car... Less to worry about with lines T's and fluid expansion tanks.
IIRC Weba's setup he is referring to is on his quad so belt routing is non-existent since its the only accessory on that side of the engine with a belt.
I personaly don't think the MPG gain removing this stuff will be all that high, especially with the quoted driving needs of the vehicle.
AC unless on and a working system is a free floating pulley to begin with, you need the alternator and water pump so all your removing is the PS pump, and honestly I don't think that creates all that much resistance. I'm also not running an AC delete, I still have it present on my car, all that stuff was Roberts setup since his AC lines had been stripped out so we just eliminated the heavy/dirty compressor.

Roger that. I guess I was just mostly curious how hard it would be. Finding a manual rack and such sounds $$...
Thanks for the info!

Hmmm... Tons of Cavaliers and Sunbirds at the local yard... Do they have provisions for deleting the power steering pump?

Because useless 4 turns lock to lock ratio. Well you can buy a gear that reduces it, and do quite a lot of work to adapt it to the steering column, but it's more expensive and more work. Granted that setup would be much lighter and take less space from engine bay, also eliminate the possible fluid leaks too.

I wasnt referring to you Weba, I know your doing it for more of a performance aspect where you want the short turns.

So, if I were to swap in a sunfire rack, it'd have 2 turns each direction to the lock?
