I have a very powerful car audio habbit and my stock 105 amp alt just can not deliever the power i need, I'm hoping their is a direct replacement thus this thread, does anybody know a replacement alt for a different vehicle i may be able to swap it with?  If not, I'm going to try and locate a 15v 250amp alt... thanks

Do you not have a Cap for it?

Adding a capacitor is like taping up a broken light. Sure it works, but there are better things you could do...

i can add 20 milliion+ caps and it will not give me more amperage... i need more power not more stress on my electrical system

Obviously I'm not a car audio freak.....but, I do have a solution for you....

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2056262

Go there and get a hold of the guy somehow....
He has a custom built 165 Amp Alternator on his TGP.

Hell, I think even the Beretta.net FAQs has a place that sells a 160 amp "ICE" alternator I think its called?

I don't think you are going to find a alternator as high as you want without it being custom and why you want a 15V alternator is a good question, i hope you like frying your electrical system.

Some shops re-build alternators, and can re-wire/mod them to output more.

with 15v i can get alot more output from my amps, It was just a thought but i may just go with 14.4, no need to start pushing things to their limit in an 11 year old car, i do need more amperage, they do sell a 250amp alt, maybe i may just have to get that $350 is worth it considering what i've spent on my setup already

My alternator is around 15volts most of the time, or high 14's. Just varies from build to build. 13.8 is what it should be. Actually since its warm out now it's back down to where it should be.

My amplifiers wattage are rated RMS at 12volts. Most amplifier manufactuers rate theirs at 14 volts!!! So that means mine are putting out more than their rated RMS wattage when the car is running, and when it's not, close to their rating!
