Robbed of $24 SMFH!
Robbed of $24 SMFH!
Ok so i bought a billet oil cap from EBAY with PAYPAL and yes i still got fucked..
http://www.ebay.com/itm/280341978637?ss ... 1497.l2649
I bought it, it came in a timely manner and was as described but after i ordered it i realized that is was "Chrome plated" which would not work for me because i needed to have it anodized, so i contacted the seller who told me returns were gladly accepted and gave me the return address, so because of my working hours i had my dad mail it back which was a mistake, he forgot to get tracking on it..
Well that was about 3 or 4 weeks ago and of coarse i never received a refund, when i contacted the seller he said "I never received your item" which is 100% bullshit because i have no way to prove that he got it which is why he can lie even though i know damn well he go it..
And the best part is i cannot file a complaint through Paypal because it was an ebay matter and eBay basically told me i waited to long and they couldn't help me anyway without proof..
Its not alot of money but im pissed about it, people are pathetic..

i think you covered all 100 of the reasons i dont use ebay in your short story. i would be hard pressed to use it unless there was something i COULDNT find anywhere else. even if its cheaper the trouble you have to go through if something goes south is worth paying a little more somewhere else. i have been burned like that before and its frustrating.

You DON'T know he got it and can't prove it either way.
So basically you ordered a wrong part, depended on someone else to take care of your screw up and now it's everyone else's fault?
The seller has 99.3% positive feedback on over 14,000 transactions!!
Even money it never got mailed back.
Quit whining!

Yes, you do need to take precautions, and there is less protection when you "return" a product. best bet is to make sure it is what you actually want before ordering (it's not like walmart, you can't just return everything so easily...), and if you did order the wrong part, or they sent you the wrong part, talk to the seller first, if it's their f* up, they can send out the proper product, and if they really want the other back, they will have to send you money for postage... otherwise, sell the wrong thing locally...
I buy a bunch of stuff off of ebay... what i will complain about is - you get what you pay for often times... (if it was a cell phone case for $4+ 2 shipping, it's likely a POS, and will wear out quickly), and also, some places, especially when ordering from Hong Kong, China, shipping will take 20 days... but if it's a good deal (like the HID kits i get for $40...) then i don't mind the wait.

4th one's a charm, 5th one is, beginnning to sound like this is an addiction...

Yeah I understand guys in Asylum you're right the guy has very good feedback I just need somewhere to bitch and complain, And I just like everyone else really hate wasting money and giving it to bums who didn't work for it but let's not get started on that.. And I just find it hard to believe that they didn't get the package when I put sufficient postage on it and I even printed out the address he gave me and put it on the box so I know it went to the right place..

If you do things the right way and track your packages in both directions then there is no issues with e-bay. It's when you do a return and do not track it then you can not verify if the seller got the package back... Sorry but the issues outlined in this thread have NOTHING to do with how e-bay operates, there is a level of attention that YOU need to apply to the transaction that you make if you are doing a process outside of e-bay and the largest one is Returns.themadness wrote:i think you covered all 100 of the reasons i dont use ebay in your short story. i would be hard pressed to use it unless there was something i COULDNT find anywhere else. even if its cheaper the trouble you have to go through if something goes south is worth paying a little more somewhere else. i have been burned like that before and its frustrating.
Sorry but I hate it when people bitch about a company or service when its the users fault and the company who provided the service has nothing to do with the error or screw up at hand. And Tyler I mean nothing against you since you obviously know you messed up with return tracking... Just trying to get a point across to "themadness" the mentality he outlined is about as stupid as the guy who sued McDonald's for getting burnt by the coffee he did not realize would be hot...

I completely agree Jon I know I wasn't trying to put down eBay or PayPal And say that their fault because it was entirely my fault, I just needed to to vent and bitch about it somewhere ha ha

You do have to be careful with ebay, though. Buying from a seller with 1400+ feedback is generally a good way to keep out of trouble. I had issues with common ebayer with limited feedback just recently, but he did make good on it. I think my problem was more the intelligence of the ebay seller rather than dishonest intent. haha

I've used ebay for a LONG time -just pay attention and it usually goes smoothly. Recently, I bought a taillight from there, when I got it, it was broken (though fixable -it wasn't the lens). I contacted the seller and asked them point-blank how they were going to make it right, since the damage was old, NOT done in shipping and not disclosed on the item listing. They refunded half of my money without complaint -that is a good seller, and I'll buy from them again anytime! Overall, I'm pretty confident about ebay, and I've saved enough over the years that even if I do get burned, I'll still be way ahead. Not saying that it is okay getting burned, mind you...
