WTB 89-91 GM High Output Quad 4
Must be these years please so it's plug and play and I won't have to buy new sensors and all that bs...preferably I would like a bad motor cause I'm gonna be tearing into it anyway and check rods and seeing if the crank needs turned, and installing new bearings, and if that has to be don't I'm gonna get the assembly rebalanced, so that being said I would mind having a blown up or blown head gasket High Output out of an 89-91 GM Quad 4 car please and thanks let me know a price trying to stay in a range of under $300 let me know what's wrong with the motor and well go from there

your serious arent you? the motor has 220k on it, im not posative the block is good, alluminum is pitted, and pullys are rusty, but if i had to guess, id say the car died due to rust not because of anything else, so if you want it, let me know

Probably because the majority of them are rusted out.

Re: WTB 89-91 GM High Output Quad 4
Why not rebuild the Quad you have? After going through a similar ordeal with my Quad (bought car with engine out of car, had blown head gasket), I can say unequivocally that I WOULD NOT EVER take a junkyard Quad4 out and slap it in my car. Yes, this has been very expensive ($400 for block work, $100 for gasket set, $30 water pump, $150 for oil pump, $150 timing set) and a bunch of other misc parts - I had a reman head already so figure $250-$300 for a reman head if you need one.
Yes, it is more expensive, but given the fact that we KNOW Quads had problems and as the mileage racks up, it would serve you much better to rebuild a Quad4.
Just my $0.02.

Re: WTB 89-91 GM High Output Quad 4
I'd still pull the head - AFAIK, the blocks are all interchangeable and LO/HO Quads had the same block, just different pistons.
If you pull the head, you will see valve reliefs on the intake if its an HO. None on LO.
I'd be curious to see how it's hacked together. Does your oil pan have a sensor on the bottom of it?
Not trying to grill you, just trying to help and it's interesting to discover what may be inside.

Where the blue moon did you find an oil pump for $150? Rockauto doesn't sell at that price...DanteGTZ wrote:Why not rebuild the Quad you have?
