5 Speed tranny mounts

Post by Luckymc420 »

I am needing some pictures of the mounts for a 1991 style mount on Getrag (Muncie 282). I know there is a top driver side mount. Ill still like to have a picture of it though. And Also I have heard there is a lower mount. Any info will help.

Thanks.

I got the billet upper mount from white88gt on bstuff, but unfortunately they have been discontinued... as well as all the FFP stuff in my pics. Some of it is now available from MRZ Performance though.

Here's a good pic of the upper:

And the lower:

91 and older berettas use a front/back engine mount. Same as gen 2 j bodies

Woody upgraded to the 92+ style, you have to weld the top one in and use a 92+ subframe iirc.

Well I have a 91 that had a 2.2 in it. I thought he didn't have a 92+ tranny setup.

That would be mine.

That would be his.

I am guessing that the front/back mount is on top there.

No, he has the 92+ motor mounts and the pre 92 tranny mounts. His trans mounts are the same as yours, even with the 4 banger.

Wow I def over read the word engine mount in your first post. Sorry. Yeah I have the top mount problem fixed and I know I need the subframe. I just wanted to know if there were anymore tranny mounts other than the dog bone and the top mount (Driver side).

While it's not really a mount, there's a little bump stop that bolts to the trans and a little platform for it on the subframe.

I have that little bump stop on my trans, but I'd guarantee I'll never need it with the poly dogbones. That drivetrain doesnt move one bit.

And just to verify, Barry is correct. Mine has the factory 91 trans mount and trans dog bone, with the 92+ engine mount welded in and the 92-93 subframe and engine dog bone.

I have everything but the driver side dog bone mount on the subframe. Junk yard is lookin to be where i just need to go. Also I dont know if i kept the dog bone mount bracket that goes on the tranny. But I ended up buying paint and some MRZ parts lastnight. Thanks for all the info.

I have a spare stock dog bone and bracket kicking around. I would really recommend an MRZ dog bone though.

I have bought both dog bones from MRZ along with some other parts already. I had to check to make sure I had that bracket. The only thing i need for that tranny is shift cables and a dip stick.
