Feeler: Turbo headers

Post by Z26_T »

Might get my hands on loner's turbo headers... Wondering if anyone would be interested in me having them sent out and a copy made of them before I install them.

For those that don't know who loner666 is or was, loner had a turboed 3400/3500 corsica which ran in the 12s. The headers were custom made by forcedfirebird who is also the one who makes the n/a headers available at WoT. Loner parted out his corsica after having transmission failures. He is also thinking about parting out his interior if anyone needs that sort of stuff :).

Yeah, killer corsica. I talk with him on 60*. The car is parted out, he couldn't get a trans to hold up, kept blowing them up. Was getting expensive, his last trans blew up before he put the turbo back on the car and couldn't afford to do that anymore. He sold everything and the person he sold the headers to is looking to sell them again so I'm 80% sure i'm gunna buy them. Just wanted to know if anyone wanted a copy :).

He never built a trans... He just kept buying junkyard deals... and IIRC he never had a LSD on it either.

I hate to say it but this is where 4t60e's get a bad rap from... They cant be used in stock form you need to upgrade them.

I'm willing to bet if he had taken the time to have that trans built with Raybestos clutches, and bumped up the shift pressure and shift speed the car would be in the 11's. I drive mine on the street and I have it in the 12's and the only issue I had is my LSD is starting to slip after 3yrs of service... so its time for a rebuild and strengthen.

Sorry its just sad to see a car parted for a reason that could have been avoided from the beginning and also saved money rather than buying multiple transmissions.

Hell, I was blowing through fully built transmissions with an EP LSD, but I also drove my 12 sec car daily and year round, Winter was fun...

I agree thats why im getting a nice low miles trans then sending it out to ep.I'm never going the turbo route. But somewhere down the road i will be doing a nice engine build.

sorry i've been flaky. I'll get you updates soon... probably a month or so. Lol. I held off on buying them for now and bought an obd2 conversion/dhp. I'm still in contact with the guy and if things go well i'll be buying them soon. I've been holding off so I can buy the intercooler setup/headers as a package deal. Also trying to put some other money aside so I can get my dragster ready for the upcoming season... too many freaking cars.
