Two things...

You sound young and want to go fast, Trust me unless the car is built for it and your not on the road there is NO NEED for you to go 150mph unless you want to injure yourself or someone else. All I have to reference is a car of 4 high school kids in my area who wanted to jump a bump in the road on a back road... 4 are dead 1 had serious injuries and has to go to physical therapy to learn to walk again. I went through the same phase and wanted to do the same thing but I realized how dumb it was before I made a mistake doing it.

and Two, there is no way to remove the limiter on a 95 since the ECM is not programmable.

This is all I'm going to say because I'm sure there will be other replies.

If you wanna go 150, take it to track day.

Oh and Z26 =\= GTZ. They are very very different machines.

Speed is dangerous. Your gonna need a safe area and much more power. My car only does 139 and it has a 3.5.

Where do you live? Try to find a track local to you with a huge strainghtaway. I know VIR has one that's really long. Beware that stock brakes will be red hot after a stop like that

Sometimes auxillary airports have top speed days. You sign a waiver and pay a fee for the ambulance on hand. Havent seen to many in the last few years however.

Believe me I'm no dummy for speed I don't do stupid things with it like jumping a bump at a high rate of speed sure I've jumped over railroad tracks doin 60 before but my old 94 2 door grand am stuck to the ground then a year after I upgrated to a 95 grand am with a quad dohc but automatic and there was never a day when that thing didn't hit 110mph for 7 miles straight I keep it at 110mph I can handle speed my first car was and still is my 1968 chevelle 300 deluxe with the L79 327 325h.p special high performance vette motor backed to a 4 speed with a 12 bolt posi with 4.10 gears I'm not a rookie I just like to get the most out of my cars...anyways I was wondering if it's possible to upgrade the brakes to handle high speeds like doin a rear disc conversion cause being my chevelle is drum all the way around and doesn't stop for anything I wanna use disc when possible but I don't know of any rear disc conversion kits

You say your not a rookie, and if your not then you should understand that 150mph with a vehicle that weighs 3100 LBS and only has 165hp if your lucky, is just not possible, let alone not very smart to do.

Search the board there is information on here about rear disc conversions and front brake upgrades.

I can't see anyone of our cars making it to 150+ within an airport length... but I could be wrong. International airports are typically just under 3.5 mile stretches... I know my car gets to 107 in a 1/4 under spray, but I don't know how long it would take to get to 150+

I had my 96 Z26 with the venture ECM and tune topped at 125 after about 2 miles of straight flat road out west. But thats all she had.

I probably took close to 2 miles to hit that 139. That was with a bad alignment. That can hurt top speed as well. Maybe 142 ish is possible but I probably will never find out.

z26man, its not the rear drums that are going to hurt you at such speeds, its the tiny front rotors. There very thin and heat up quickly. Assuming you have OEM quality pads, you will see a ton of fade before you get down to 60MPH and making a full stop really sucks.\

What is cool is when I get on the brakes hard at night at around 80-100 you can see sparks blowing out of my front wheels.

I thought for sure there was a speed limiter on a 95. Or is my car just that slow?
Nah need to rebuild the front end, so I won't even try.

That would be my point. As long as that stock computer is in the car there will be no 150mph anyway.
