Tranny rebuilt?

Post by Geoff »

I'm curious if anyone has gotten a 5spd muncie rebuilt or partially rebuilt. I'm looking for apprx. prices, what ppl have heard them costing etc. I cant get a a quote where I live everyone says "We'll have to take it out and take a look and then tell you" I dont have the money nor the time to pay them to take a look at it. I know that sounds kind of dumb but I have to have a car and I cant just let it sit there for them to "get to it" so before I even bother, does anyone know any prices. I've searched the internet like jeeves and such for sites citing prices of rebuilds. the closet junkyard from kalamazoo that has a 5spd for my 90 GTZ is Ohio. I cant go down there and get one.

Just buy a used one unless you are  really attached to that one.  Most people upgrade to a 3.94 unit and swap bell housings to match the throwout bearing setup that they need.
